Srinath, when was the last time you saw Sac?  There isn't anything small about it any more.  It pretty much swallowed up Folsom and El Dorado Hills headed east, and is one big metro area now.  Its been coming for years, but really is just huge and sprawling now.  Plus, its a very expensive place to live, the real estate is out of sight, and gettin real smoggy.  Maybe consider one of the outlying areas, some of the commutes aren't all that bad.

Yea 2002 was when I left CA and I guess that's the last I saw sacramento ... and yea I can see that. But they said that about 1990-1992 as well, but when I got there in 95 it was great.
Anyway, can anyone tell me how old the google satellite maps are ??? it says 2006, but really its close to 2004-2005 ???
Cool.

Most of the ones I see in the DC area are about 5 years old.  Rather annoying.

Ok so does this mean I'll have to find my own job ...
Just ... Think about it ... The srinath will be there to laugh at you when you screw up on the bike ...
And being the equili-moo that I am ... You'd be invited to the screw ups of The srinath ... which are far far far far worse than you can ever imagine ...
Like having a hole large enough to sick your finger into in the back side of a Eliminator head cos he put water in his rad, and didn't mix it by running the motor ...
Yea that big ...
Then there is the usual array of old ass crap ... like the 85 maxim 700, the 89 virago 1100, the elis, the 87 sausage ... like bikes that the owner/mechanics gave up on 2-3 times and I currently ride to work ... as in if it dies I'll be stuffed.
Cool.

Look harder at SB/SD, they don't call UCSD and UCSB two of the best UC's to go to if you like good scenery.

I'd be anywhere but the central (San Joaquin) Valley if I were moving out of SD.  Flat, boring, still expensive compared to other places in the easterly direction.  Sacramento always seemed like it was too big for it's own good when I was up living near Fresno.  Ghetto compared to some place on the beach, and not that much cheaper.

maybe I missed it but what kind of work are you looking for?

what about some of the surrounding cities like Rocklin or Davis?  Driving through Sac always reminds me of driving through Richmond to work.  Doesn't Davis have one of the best hospitals in the valley?  You might have to commute somewhere depending on the type of work.  Vacaville is booming right now, Genentech keeps growing and adding stuff to their facilities.  I think Seely matress is there too

so now you're "The Srinath"?

Oh yea ... what ... you jealous ... did I complain when you became Peetey Pablo ...

Anyway I do Unix application support. Resume will be cooked up as soon as I discover some good jargon to put on there and Its available free to GStwinners  :thumb: .
Sealy mattress, OK so they run unix ... allright, then sleep really is a process then ...  :icon_mrgreen:
Yea There is a million of these Unix geek Jokes.
Unix app support is the IT equivalent of being a grease monkey. Its always dirty and messy and needs to be adjusted and patched and started up and stopped and cleaned up ... totally fits my mind. When I am at work, I am still working on my bike and test riding it and adjusting it. And Oh yea, I am usually stuck with applications waaaaay past their retirement date ... sorta like the relic I like to ride in to work on.
Cool.
