My New Bike BABY!!!!!!!

i just bought a new 2005 SV 1000s.

it is a 1000cc twin cyliner crotch rocket!!!!!!!!

120hp and 70-80 torque.

VERY FAST!!!

i know you prolly confused when i say a brand new 05...  hello its the year 2006..  well this bike was purchased and they used the frame on his sv1000 race bike.  so when he put the frame back on the bike, the rest of the bike was brand new.  but he put 2006 plastic and gas tank on it, but the engine is an 05 with 0 miles.  so i consider it my 05/06 brand new SV1000s...  got this baby for only 5500 bucks!!!

factory dual pipes.  this thing is 100% stock.  has the same amount of HP as the 06 gixxer 600, but has about 10-20 more torque.  this thing runs a 10.7 quarter mile baby!!!  picking it up sometime next week.  finally getting rid of my 500!!!

Those numbers are pretty optimistic for the SV1K, but congrats on the bike, I know you'll like it, I'm totally in love with mine. 






Make sure you put some MOTOSLIDERS on it

Yup, ride safe.  I spend 2 weeks getting used to my GS-replacement before I opened it up and explored the "spirited" side.

i just know someone is going to Buddha Loves You that someone went from a 500 to a twin 1000...  hey, it was either this or an 06 gixxer 600...  the numbers are pretty much axactly the same for each bike..  ok my rant is over,  thanks for all the comp's...

hahaha, yah i am just saying that whatever bike i wanna get and can afford i will get...  doesnt matter if its a busa..  if i like it and want it, i wouldve bought it, but i dont want a busa, for safety reasons, and its not a "flickable" bike.

Asking how much time you've spent building up to the bike is a courtesy...it shows concern for our fellow riders.  If you can't accept that we care for your life, we hope you eat the bike.

On top that, whoever told you that the bike runs 10.7 lied to you.  You'll be lucky to break 11.5...which, with only 5k under your belt, I doubt you'll break a 12.  And since they're willing to lie t you about something so trivial, imagine all the important things they lied about...

Whats up this weekend?   Nobody got laid?  Didn't have nice rides or something?  Man a guy gets a new bike takes some pic's and post  them for us to see.  Is it so hard to make a comment about him getting a new bike and not about anything else?

Personally when a new member gets a new bike I like to see what they got and what they think about the new bike, or how they compare the GS.

Dude grats again on the new bike, hope you get the side fairings for it.  Saw a 650 full faired looked killer.   Then again I like either 100% naked or 100% faired.

Mak, that's exactly what I was meaning when I posted my comments.
And I'm so sick of people here lately cursing about everything, especially to other people on the board.
Let's all be adults.
I'm glad to hear about everyone's toys here.
But I certainly believe that riding a motorcycle takes time to learn well and you don't always get a second chance.
Buying a bigger bike after 5,000 miles on a 500 is likely not enough. It's not the miles, it's the learning. It's learning how to make good judgements and learning how to handle a myriad of real-world, on the street situations.
And it's being adult enough to listen when others tell you their personal opinion after you make a public declaration about some powerful, faster new toy you bought.
Mak is right, we only say something because we don't want our friends and fellow riders here to get themselves hurt.
We've had enough experiences lately with gstwin.com comrades who are no longer with us due to riding accidents.
Life can be inherently unsafe, but we do what we want because to do otherwise, life wouldn't be worth living.
So let's be careful out there when we make choices that we may not be ready to face.
Good luck with your new bike Metallic. It is very nice.
But if you go out there on it thinking you are "ready" now for a 1000 because you put 5,000 miles on a 500, you are kidding yourself.
Learn it slowly, what it can do, what it can't do. Learn how it stops, turns, slides and everything else.
I don't see a 500 as a "beginner's bike."
I've been riding for 31 years and have owned a great group of motorcycles from twins to fours. I came back to a 500 twin after years on a four-cylinder because it is cheap, easy to live with on a daily basis, easy to work on and doesn't have the hassles of water cooling and other more intensive maintenance issues.
As someone with over 100,000 of miles on motorycles and 31 years under my belt, I think our GS500s are great all-purpose motorcycles for beginners to experts.
It ain't the meat, it's the emotion.
Have fun with your new bike and be careful out there, bub.

Dude, seriously, look into the fairing kits.. they look pretty badass, when done right. Or go full naked. I'm with Dave on this one.

thanks!!   yah there is a set of side fairings i REALLY like but on the other hand, i really like how the lil faring on top makes the bike more unique, adding the fairings does look nice, but i think it takes away from the unique look.

i know the bike wont run a 10 with me riding it.
