...Make sure your pain isn't anything serious.  Sometimes "soreness" can be much more serious than it feels.  Personally, I'd get yourself checked out.  Dave's insurance will cover any serious bills you might encounter.  If you wait too long, some companies wont let you file under the original claim.

Damn Nick.  Damn.

The Hurt Report tells us:
Quote25. More than half of the accident-involved motorcycle riders had less than 5 months experience on the accident motorcycle, although the total street riding experience was almost 3 years.

20. Motorcycle riders between the ages of 16 and 24 are significantly overrepresented in accidents

Looks like you set yourself up for failure. :dunno_white:

Glad you survived.  Hope you feel better.

This is why it is advised that you should not let anybody else ride your bike...except, your mechanic...and me.  ;)  Riding hot on someone else's bike, without enough distance between you and the rider in front of you (just a statement, not directed @ u), even on a road that you know...I'm not going to rebuke you, I'm just glad you survived.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

good judgement trumps good skills every time.

I think Dave isn't a real person. Nobody is that chill about having their bike wrecked by someone else and has an insurance company that cool. It's impossible.

NGFL, good thing you're ok, just learn from this one.

  Last time I checked I'm real.  I have had the same insurance company for oh god for a long time sense I got my US drivers license.  I also have 1 house, 2 auto's 4 bikes and some kind of disability insurance also.  They have always treated me very nice.

Last time I had an accident in my car, ( about 4 years ago ).  I just called her up and told her what happened, got a check in the mail for the depreciation on  the car, and the other check was sent to the repair place.  All I had to do was pick up the car when it was ready.  State Farm is my insurance Co..

I learned a long time ago, don't let anyone borrow anything if your going to get upset about it if it gets broken.  Life is to short to worry about things like this.  I used to have a very bad temper, get upset / mad at all kinds of little things,I actually threw a love seat through patio glass door once because someone put an empty beer bottle in my fish tank.

I guess with age I have mellowed out a bit.  Life should be enjoyed and you can't enjoy anything if your mad or pissed all the time.  The insurance will take care of the bike.  I'm just glad Nick didn't get hurt worse than he already has.  It's been said many times, the bike can be fixed or replaced, but there is only one you.

Wow.. note to self: "Be glad you met Dave now, not then"... otherwise, I'd be dead...

I went to the student health center today. I told the lady that I just wanted a routine physical, to get checked out. Told her I wrecked my bike, that I THOUGHT I was ok, but would like to be checked for anything I wouldn't notice, like internal bleeding, or some other life-threatening malady. Her response? "I don't have an appointment till Monday"... I figure if I've got anything life threatening, I'll know by then anyway..

My back feels better today, but my arms/legs are bruised and painful. I think I hit my legs on the tank/bars on my way over the tank.  Dave, I'm working on getting the pictures on here..

Here's a link to the thread I made on GSB:
http://www.georgiasportbike.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37993&page=2

There are pictures of the area/bike/scene on page 5. Everything else is just people cheering me up or bashing my riding skills, interspersed with some attacking the guy I was riding with.... I really don't blame him, it was my fault...

That corner looks scary, even from the pics.

Yes... this link has more pics, and a little writeup about that corner (Evidently, that's a popular place to crash)

:o Hitting a guardrail.  That ranks right up there with things you never want to do on a motorcycle.

It's the nature of the sport--new riders will experience their share of close calls and all we can do is hope that the experience adds up before the luck runs out.   :dunno_white:

Glad you didn't get too messed up, Niceguy. :thumb:   Just don't go thinking that you have 8-lives left.  :nono:  Colliding with a guardrail kills off at least 7 or 8 of 'em in one shot.

indywar360

Did you cross the opposing lane?

If you did, you lucky bastard, you should go become a born again Christian.

Well then you should go back and recommit your heart to the Lord, and turn from your evil ways!  :nono:

rob1bike

Or thank God for watching out for you and having a insane cool friend in Dave. Which I'm sure you did.
Glad your alright, that could have been so nasty, I've been through there acouple times.
If your checked out and you haven't busted a gut or anything try soaking epsum salts, I do it all the time with muscle soars and it really helps.
If it comes out of your body you shouldn't be afraid to hold it in your hand! :o
