I know a guy that has a 1500cc Victory cruiser that flooded in Katrina he is selling dirt cheap, I dont kno much about Victorys other then polaris makes them I"ve heard hit nd miss reviews regarding reliability. Its a 2000 model w/ only 2k miles. So I'm kind of interested if not to fix it up and sell it assuming I could get it running again. Think I should bother?

Might be worth it, Victory is becoming a more and more recognized name.  I'm not sure about the all the dates and details, but I think a Victory of that vintage had a lot more off the shelf parts thrown together to make the bikes; they kinda have to do this to get started.  The newer bikes have parts that were all designed to work together, and these bikes are better looking IMO.

I'd say if it's dirt cheap and you are confident about getting it running, go for it.  Above I say off the shelf parts like its a bad thing, but I think the bikes were probably relatively simple.  Even with it's age (relative to the new lineup), I'm sure it would be worth a fair amount fixed up.  Maybe check some book values on it... Good luck!

I would buy it if the amount you're paying is less than what you could get if you have to part it out.  Since it was flooded there's a very good chance the electrical system, engine, fuel system, etc. are totally ruined.  If you're not able to get it running make sure you can get your money back by selling the good parts on e-bay.

Cal Price

Its probably a worthwhile exercise at the right price but only if you have the time, my own limited experience of restorations is that they take a lot of your time, always more than you expect. Only you can work out the equation, trade the time off against whatever else you may be doing or wanting to do.

In Cricket the testicular guard, or Box, was introduced in 1874. The helmet was introduced in 1974. Is there a message??

Ouch. May have been a pretty good Deal but if the motor got full of Water it could have been Very Expensive to fix. Then if it had been Totaled by an insurance Company it would have been Difficult to resell even if you were Able to get a Rebuilt Title.
If it's Not Broke Modify it.

For $500 I wouldn't have had to "consult" my forum.
