i re jetted have not done the #4 washer yet did 125/40 s..... my question is that when you go to set it up do you have to have the air box on or does it make a difference .......i've got a y2k do the washers make a difference ..... runs like a bag of sh^t right now ..... any ideas

No air box = 150 mains. 125 will make it run like a pile of sheite.
So Essentially you have to take the pile and put it into a bag. 
BTW you're talking about idle or at higher revs. Screw that, dont freaking tune it with bits and pieces missing. You need air box and filter and all clamps and stuff hooked up and intact before it will even come close to being tunable.
