I'd love to go on the Big Bend trip...

My problem isnt time or money, but the spouse. Trouble is, she will want to go with me, yet would never ride on the back of the bike for anything more than 20 mins before the complaints start. (Get her a bike her own? Yeah... when Hell gets Air Conditioning) Any HVAC Engineers here?

dont think so ... the closet thing you get to that i think is CSS he works as a contractor at NASA

The wind is your air conditioner!

Seriously though, check out TWTex.com they have lots of rides out of pretty much every area on a regular basis. I'll be going to College Station on the 30th with them.

I live in the Houston area. I was an HAVC engineer but am now a dynamic and loads engineer.

As far as a ride goes, any interest in a ride on Jan 7th?  I won't be in Houston until then.

Also you can check out www.superbikemoto.com it is a new site, John set it up to organize local rides.

or www.motohouston.com it is active, just be careful which rides you go on.

What do you mean by: "just be careful which rides you go on"???

Some examples of why I say you should be careful which rides you go on.

-On one ride a person was learning to do wheelies in the back of a pack, we stopped at a red light, he never saw it, drove through the pack and the red light. He bumped in to several of us and knocked one person over.
-On another ride the person in front of me did a wheelie into a ditch.
-On another ride a person crashed he slid across the road, only had a helmet on.

I now only go on rides that have rules such as warring helmets, gloves and coats. Or not doing wheelies while in a group.

:nono:  Good point! When I see people being stupid around me, thats exactly when I turn left when the rest of the group goes right. I have better things to do with my health than have it compromised by others stupidity. Anyone can drop, crash or have a momentary lapse of reason, myself included but Wheelie's, stopie's, and the unwanted attention gathering of PoPo is not on my list.

Your right about this though, thanks for pointing it out. Ride with an older group will likely curb some of this activity.

I have an 05' GS500F for sale by the way. I think Im going to go dual sport and begin to market my bike.

Anyone from Houston riding a GS?

Not quite riding yet, but getting there!  Working on getting a project GS together.  Right now, riding an old f2.  Love this forum though!
