The owner of my local bike shop said that the Suomy's are good because they are "not snell" certified.  He said a lot of people like that because they are more flexable and therefore more forgiving.  He said the harder the helmet is isn't necessarily a good thing.  You just want them to prevent punctures.  Sounds good to me.  I just like the paint on them.

I ordered a new helmet for my girlfriend too, but it is an '07 and hasn't been released yet.  I'll post picks when it comes in the mail.

Heres an article on DOT and SNELL rated helmets, its very long but interesting.
(In summery this author "finds" the SNELL rating is to hard. You would be better off with a "softer" DOT only rated helmet. Then theres a piece by a guy from the snell foundation dismissing all the clames, so skim through it read the parts you find interesting and make a informed decision. Personally the next helmet i buy will be DOT rated only.)

Yea I got frustration ... just at these 2X4's calling themselves models getting themselves plastered on everything.
One day there was like 10 of them in front of this modeling place - guys and chicks ... Yea they looked like they were 8 yrs old. Then the wind changed direction and they all went and got slammed into the building.

(note: I had to order xsmall cheek pads tho because my previous Suomy medium (which I ordered again in this helmet) is slightly larger, possibly because when I bought my first Suomy I didn't know how helmets were really supposed to fit, now my head ain't going anywhere!!! lol
