Hey all, Im considering getting some rim tape from tapeworks.com
there three interesting colors, im not sure which one would look the best with the 05 blue. I don't have a color printer so i can't print them out and take them home to compare.
I know some people here have the reflective blue, if they could post some pics for comparison :thumb: that would be great

Reflective

What do you guys think of these blues?

Ah, geez, man.  I like girls, so those all look like blue to me.

indywar360

I would definitely get the reflective if I were you, anything to maximize visibility at night. Especially for those cars turning in off side streets... a tiny margin, but it would look cool too... that would be my choice.

Blu_Spd_Dmon

thats what i was thinking. looks cool in the picture but I would like to get some peoples opinions on theirs so i don't slap it on there and decide i don't like it.
Then clog up the board with post of "how do i get this stupid rim tape off???"

Dave had it on his GS that I wrecked. It looked damn good at night. Don't think I have any pictures though, sorry. I might be able to snap some tomorrow before I leave for Florida. I'll try.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

You're supposed to remove the wheels and soak them in a peroxide or similar solution to prime the paint, otherwise the stickers will come off after a season or two. After 5 hours, you blow dry it or use a heat gun to ensure theres no residue after drying. Mount the wheel on a vertical axis and hold it in place with vise grips, then use a section of pipe that is equal in diameter to the wheel's rim at the point of adhesion (the sticker). You remove the sticker with another section of pipe equal to its diameter with double-sided tape to hold the sticker in place, then just press it on there for 5 minutes while rotating the wheel and drying it with a heat gun (after removing the vise grips). Then you let it cure for 24 hours and you're good to go. Super easy mod.

It's definitely NOT this complicated...

The instructions on the package are something like this:

~Wash rim with mild soap and water
~let dry (or wipe dry)
~apply rimtape

Now...  I used TWO methods of applying the tape...  The front rim was done by having someone sit on the bike, while I layed down on a mechanics creeper and steadily applied the tape...  The rear was done a day later.  I jacked the rear up off the ground, and basically turned the rim myself while I was applying the tape.

I recommend the second method.

This sounds more like a professional job but im not a pro so ill give it the simpler clean, dry and apply method.
