OK so now that im giving my brain a rest, anyone have any good recommendations for good strumming tunes to learn on guitar? Gotta be SOMEWHAT productive tonight, lol.

Still the Same, by Bob Segar.  Easy cord progression.  Easy to sing.  And it sounds cool. 

If you want to learn Jack Johnson start with Flake or Rodeo Clowns.  Maybe Gone if you want to do some finger picking. 

Try Hook or Moutains Win Again by Blues Traveler. 

3 AM is a good easy song to learn.

Also do Pancho and Lefty by Willie Nelson.  That song is a fun one to pick up when you are just starting out.

I can make C, F, G, and Casi posted a tab for me to learn A. I can't play any songs. I just sit and chord aimlessly about.......................if you tell me when to play what and change chords maybe ..
maybe one day I can play a song.............

I have a Taylor Big Baby sitting over here on a stand to ease my tensions when life gets too great to handle................. I just go over and grab it and sit on the futon and make C, F, G, and now

You should learn Simple Kind of Man by Lynard Skynard.

The cord progression is super easy.   C, G, Am with a little hammer on the E string at the end.

C                                   G                                       Am
Momma told me. . .            When I was young. . .
C                                   G                                       Am
Sit beside me. . .                My only son. . .
C                                    G                                      Am
And listen close. . .             To what I say. . .


Then there is the little hammer on after the Am.  Just use your pinky.  Play E string open then hammer it on the thrid fret.  Hold it there and play it again and pull you pinky off and then back to C.  Chorus stays the same.
