Bike Stands on Ebay

Does anyone have any experience with these stands?

It looks like a good deal if they're decent quality and work as intended. The ability to lift the front end by the headtube seems like a really easy way to remove the fork tubes if necessary. I'm needing some stands for my FZR600 but they should work for the GS as well. My biggest concern is that they'll be unstable or hard to use. I've never used stands like those and I don't want to drop the bike. Also is it possible to use the front and rear stand on hard ground. I don't have a garage yet so all my work is done in the backyard.

The rear will work, but I don't know abotu the forklift and the headlift.

A local dealer showed me that their forklift wouldn't work on the GS...  It might depend on the brand.

Derek NC - you want something that will do a decent job ... pay me $125 and I'll make you a bike hanger from 4 inch square section tubing. Basically you just use tie downs and string it up.

those ebay stands look fine, especially for the price. the rear wont have a problem on your gs, excpt that it needs to be pad type and not spool type (the gs doesnt have a place to mount spools). the fork lift looks iffy but the fork lift using the triple looks fine...

do you need both stands?

I'd really like to have at least the front and rear stand. The stands will mainly be for the FZR600 since I'll be selling the GS soon. I need to be able to get the front and rear off the ground for tire changes and other maintenance. It may be possible to remove the fairings and block up the front of the frame but it would take a bit more time. On the GS I use the centerstand and block up the front for tire changes. I thought the fork stand tips looked kind of iffy myself. The last thing I want is for my bike to fall over in the backyard. I'm actually looking at some of the other stands on Ebay to see if they appear more solid.

The bike hanger sounds like a good idea Srinath. When I get my garage built I may get back to you on that. The problem now is I don't really have a place to store much equipment.

when you get a garage you wont need bike stands

all you need is 4 tie downs and hang the bike from the rafters

if you install drywall.....install 4 eye bolts thru the drywall into the rafters
use the lag bolt style with big washers  not the wood screw type eye bolts

I just got a Spool-type rear stand for Christmas from my brother.  If you look closely you can tell Im using bolts in the swingarm instead of spools.  I haven't gotten around to picking up my spools at the local Suzuki shop.


This rear wheel stand will come in handy, seeing as none of the bikes in our garage have centerstands...

I'd need the universal pad type rear stand for the FZR. The spool type sure looks more secure though. I could always drill my swingarm if I decide to go that route. If I get the universal stand I can always switch to the spool type.

Also check out T-Rex stands on E-bay

I did some research and could not find any really big complaints, and hell the price is right.

Check out there front stands too, they seem much nicer

also check out redlinestands.com (thats where I bought my rear stand) and handy industries (google or look for their ads in the back of the moto mags). they sell the pair for $100 and people are happy with them.
