Hi Everyone !

I've just found out about this great  site.
I live in Hungary where Suzuki's are relatively quite common.  I've read many good things about the GS 500 and everything seems good
for my demands  about a motorcycle though there's one thing I'm not sure about ((I'd use it mostly four touring in the country):
I'm 196 cm ~ 6.4ft tall.  How about everything from everyday use to long trips   ?
I'd be extremely  greatful  if someone  could share his/her opinion on this issue.

Thank you very much in advance !

Peter

I'm 6'3" and I love riding mine.  I usually ride for short trips but have taken it on longer trips.  2 hours is about the longest of have ridden at one time.

I'm a little over 6'4", and while I look dorky on my GS, it's not uncomfortable.

Thanks all for the reply...

It's good to see other riders with the same height are alive and well  8)

Anyway, if I   may  have one last request on this subject:
if anyone of you tall guys have a picture posing with the bike, would you make a link to it as  reference ? (as you know  Pictures Worth a Thousand Words )

Thanks again for your efforts !

Best wishes

im 6'3" and love mine, all my friends say that it looks to small for me but i feel at home on it. The longest trip i have ever taken on it was 4 1,000 mile days and I had no problems with my body.

but then the GS doesnt feel like a rocket you can ride in a more comfy upright posistion but still tuck behind the windshield for those need for speed moments.

hmmmnz

im 6 4 and i found mine way too short,
get a sv650 shock (the early one, its yellow in colour)
that raises the arse about 2" and makes the bike ride a bit better,
its probably the best mod ive done
pod filters, costum r6 quill exhaust(no baffles)40/140 jets, heavy duty springs, sv650 rear shock, gsxr srad tail, bandit 600 4.5 inch rim with 150 tyre, gsx twin disc front end "1995 pocket rocket"  ridden by a kiwi in scotland

Unnamed

I'm 6'4" and I fit alright, although my knees stick way out of the tank indents (1996 model). I wish I had a picture, I'd take one of myself on it except its snowing here and I don't really want to try to take it out.
1996 Black GS, stock except for where previous owner broke things

If you think you don't need a helmet, you probably don't

So i'm 6'4" and a 98 gs is a fine fit for me. I do tend to make the machine look a little small. 3-4 hour rides aren't a problem. The only time I feel out of place on it is when some sawed off type pulls up on a 2000cc harley, chopped out to 8 ft, with 400 pounds of chrome. Guess I look as funny on a 'little' bike as he does on a perportionally 'big' bike.

Commuting is fun. I'll look into a sv at some point, but I doubt I'll sell this dependable blaster I have now.

Here you go: 6'4" and my height is in my legs...

I've commuted every day on this bike since I got it five months ago. It works just fine, although I do sometimes wish I had something a little taller. It's stupid how fun this bike is to ride.

BTW - Before I get cooked, yes I wear gear. This was a 15' roll in our parking lot to let my wife snap a shot to send to my Dad, who also rides. If I dumped the bike doing that, I deserved whatever rash I got

The Buddha

Yup ... a regular Lord Ganesha ...
BTW he's an elephant god, whose vehicle is a mouse ...
