Hey!

I recently started doing some side work at a local Suzuki dealer. I have been puting old stock and other items on eBay.

Our eBay store

http://stores.ebay.com/CERNICS

Anyway...

On Monday I have to rip down a LIKE NEW 01 CBR600 I think it has about 2500 Miles on it :) But it was a repo from like 5 years ago and they just want to part it out..

Soo... Any insight on the best way to break it down for ebay? I mainly wounder about the plastics. Should I sell them together as a set or appart? What about other high ticket items that would sell better removed from another part... I noticed on ebay that some front (headlight farings) sell for over $300 without the lamp assy. and the lamp assy will sell for about $300. but I see whole sets of plastics w/ the light assy for $600 ???

Any input is VERY welcome.

PS..  I always keep an eye out for GS parts. So far I have only found a 1990 manual  :thumb:

Also for all you moders out there.. We have TONS of stock cans (NEW take offs) from Gixers, Busas Dirt bikes etc... Most of em nobody in the shop know what year/model they are from. I can take pics of some of them and if any of you want to make offers on em let me know.

You'll get the most money if you part out everything individually.  However, it's a lot easier to find buyers who will pick up assemblies.  Me, for example, if I'm looking for a set of forks and want to pay $300, I won't heasitate to pay $450 for a complete front end.  Stuff like that.

Big ticket items are going to be forks, front wheel, frame, fairings, radiator, and the engine.  All the rest you'll be able to pick up $10 or $15 from time to time but don't let your expectations run rampant.

thinking about it, though, parting out a running '01 CBR is ridiculous.  Even if it is a repo, it'll have a clear title, and the bike runs and looks good (I assume) so there's no reason to not sell it.  You won't make more money parting it than selling it as a whole if it's a good, solid bike.

You want the forks?

For $300?

The bike cannot be titiled again. they want it parted out. If They would let anyone title it I would buy it.. It is SOoo sweet. I will post pics of it tomorrow. Anyway.. If anyone needs parts for it or other.. let me know I will look

Hmm.. can't CBR pegs be modded to fit the GS, relatively easily?

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

That makes no sense.  Repo cars and bikes get sold all the time.  Reposession just means the lean-holder took possession of the property.  There's no reason it can't get titled unless it was stolen/totalled/etc.

That's not what I'm talking about...though financially it's retarded to part it out over selling because selling it as a whole will yield more money. What I'm talking about is that you said "it can't be titled".  The only reason the bike couldn't be titles is if it was totalled or if something shady is happening.

You could just buy all the parts and put it together again.  :thumb:
