5000 cool points to who can guess what it is.

It's an old HD trials bike.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

It's actually a 175...but yeah.  Aermacchi/Harley Davidson Sprint.  The egine is locked down, the frame is rusted, the wheels are frozen, the tank's missing, the wiring harness is screwed up, the seat's screwed up, forks and shocks are shot, and the side covers are busted up.  Great shape other than that, though.

so youre basically sayin its pretty much f%&ked up, but other than theat, its nice ?

nah it has hope.  The biggest issues are the engine and the wiring...wiring can be fixed wtih some tape and solder and it's a 2-stroke; how much can be screwed up inside?

I'll make her a tank and all the plastic stuff is pointless anyway...I doubt she'll ever be a street bike again.

Jeez, looks like an assload of work to me...  Every single peice of that bike needs work...

Looks like the grips are in ok shape.  :thumb:

2-smoker, guy...a 175 can hit 20k if there's reason to.

werase643

not without a serious redesign to the expansion chamber
exhaust design determines max rpm,  I don't think you could get that high, even unloaded.  well, ma-b unloaded.....

and the ball bearings don't like much over 14k, ceramic should get you closer

and yes, with mods....it probably could spin 20k.... for about 30 seconds.....before it pukes it's guts out all over the ground

want Iain's money to support my butt in kens shop

makenzie71

it's not so difficult for so small a motor and yeah, some things have to be tweaked to do it, but it's very possible.  There's just no reason to...there's nothing up there.  We ran the snot out of an old yamaha 125 just to blow it (it had problems that made it easier to just buy a new motor) and she hovered around 18500rpm for nearly 20 minutes before giving up the ghost.

Point being, 10k isn't that impressive for a 175.

1991 Suzuki GS500E , a bunch of crap done to it :)

Geezzz....dont butcher it, its sacralidge!. Thats a very rare bike and there are plenty of restoration enthusiasts who will pay good money for it, even in that condition. If you were in the UK I would make you an offer on it. Put it on e-bay and use the cash to buy a shagged-out  90`s jap` stroker that no one will miss.

makenzie71

no one misses this bike.  I had to dig it out from under 3 tons of scrap iron and garbage (literally...scaled weight of the garbage heap was 6300lbs and this bike was at the bottom).

sledge

I promise you that bike is worth a lot more than its scrap-value and you will make money by selling it to a restoration enthusiast, either in parts or as it stands.........but I guess its your call.

How did you even know it was at the bottom of all that?
