Anyone see the one where the kids are sitting on the couch?  When I first saw that one I was so confused because he says something like.  "What happend to us? nothing we just sat on the couch.  I have more of a chance of getting hurt out there."  I really thought this was a PRO-drug commercial.  It stright up said you have more of a chance of dieing/getting hurt going out and doing stuff than smoking weed and sitting on a couch.

hey, you can make pot tea too, Egaeus, theres still hope for you yet...

you can't really rant about raids on people with med cards. I have a med card, they're easy to get, you don't have to be a cancer patient. I have it for headaches and a back injury. (both are real, i do get dehabilitating migranes but pot makes them worse...and the back injury was job related, long story though) I don't smoke but once in a blue moon anymore, but i still have it and could legally...

And cigarettes, well, i can't really talk there. I keep trying to quit but it never works... yet!
perhaps in the state of CA but it is still a federal law prohibiting its sale and use btw

I loved that...you can have it but you can't buy it, sell it, or grow it.

Used to smoke a lot, then I got tired of it.

Frequent use does mask emotions or emotional problems and development. There should be a distinction between use (occasional) and abuse (compulsive daily using, at work, to cover up problems, etc).

Its pretty minor and its really sad anyone should go to jail for a long time because of it. In places like OR I think it's treated pretty light, the justice system isn't perfect but they're not the gestapo either. Not so sure of down south.

in my life experiences i have encountered two kinds of pot heads.  the ones i used to hang out with, and the ones i hang out with now.  the ones i used to hang out with cant hold jobs, never have money, get kicked out of whereever they were living, lie, cheat and steal from their friends and relatives and most of that can be attributed to their love for the reefer.  they just wanna get high and thats it.  when they are stoned they dont wanna work, exercise, eat right, do anything constructive.  when they run out of pot they steal it from eachother behind their backs, pinch any bag that comes their way, and even worse, they steal money from whoever (including family) just so they can buy a bag.  these kind of pot heads i dont like.

the potheads that i hang out with now have full time jobs, support their kids/family, know when to put it down, and most importantly, they share it man  O0  i dont personally smoke anymore but i dont have a problem with these guys.  its about priorities IMO.

btw not all my friends smoke pot haha

ok so now there's one that where a doctor holds up a couple lungs and points to one and says "this guy had emphysema", then he points to another one and says "this is a healthy lung".

All I can think is "aren't healthy lung inside people?"

What you have to remember is that not everyone can pick up a joint, get a nice tilt, put it down and go to work.  Some folks start down the road of pot and eventually find themselves in meth town or a cocain day dream.

I disagree with this.  The type of person that would use meth or coke would have whether or not they got their hands on pot.  Pot is just so easily accessible, so that ends up being their first drug.

It isn't any more difficult for me to get cocaine than it is to get weed.  The majoraty of the problem users I've known started with the heavy shaZam!.

Most people don't go out on their own looking to try drugs...the ones that do are like the preppy little rich white girls rebelling against their parents and typically don't use what they get.  Pretty much every user on the face of the planet started because one of the people they were hanging out with said "wanna hit?"

A recent research project showed that most drug abusers started with smoking and drinking in their teen years.  Do we want to go back to Prohibition and also declare a new prohibition on tobacco?  The original Prohibition worked SO well (just like the "War on Drugs").

Prohibition (and the "War on Drugs") are VERY VERY good for organized crime.  The dealers  make much higher profits when things are illegal.  As a side note, the "War on Terror" seems about as effective -- we now have terrorists where practically none were found before, and they're having some GREAT recruiting and fundraising years.

Is it impossible for us to learn by experience (or just impossible for us to learn)?
