i took my wheels and new tires to the suzuki dealership to get the tires mounted and balanced. i was talking to the 'main' engineer, telling him what i wanted to get done. he said it would be 75 bucks plus another 5 bucks for old tire disposal. then, he asked what kind of bike I had. hahah... the conversation went like this:

him: "is it a street bike, or a dirt bike?"
me: "street."
him: "what kind of bike is it?"
me: "a gs500"
him: "uhhh... yeah, but who makes it?"
me: "...you serious?"
then he stared at me blankly until i told him, "suzuki."

i laughed all the way home.

ohgood

lol ahaha... first time I drove to the greenville, tx dealer, the guy looks at me and said, what year is that GSXR ?? lol
when I replied it was a gs500F and walked around the bike... and said he never had seen one.... (he had one in his showroom, but about 30 GSXR)...geez

now I get all my work done at this great independant Yamaha (yeah yeah) streamliner guy that opened a motorcycle shop (yamaha of course) but the demand (rural area) for repairs for all bikes is so great, he has a Honda and Suzuki Specialist mechnic (the suzuki guy is the one from the dealer I use to go to (25 miles out)... its great its 5 miles now, and I am getting top notch seervice from these guys.  I rolled in, and he look at the bike and knew right away what/was bike without a question. He accepts allbrand of bikes (seen a harley get repaired at that shop) and his prices are very good on parts and labour. (50$/hr)..

Yeah.  It's nice to get work done by someone who can tell what the bike is from a distance. :thumb:
