I put a set on my bike like a week ago.
They are AWESOME tires.
The price difference between them and something "cheaper" was very negligible.
I only have a few trips on mine so far since I was down for repairs but they do seem to be VERY nice.

I'm late to the posting party, but you can count me in as well as a satisfied Pirelli Sport Demon fan. Although I got mine on late last season, this year I'm finally able to break them in. As mentioned, they get better as you break them in and get used to them.
It's not how fast you go, rather "how" you go fast!

Pirelli Sport Deamons are plenty sticky. I did my first race weekend on them due to changing wet/dry track conditions and could easly get my knee down.  :thumb:

In fact I will have the set off for next weekend and will be selling them, the right side is a little shaged(50%) but the damn centers have like 90% tread left

plze pm me about the take offs

I've got through two sets of Sport Demons and I will agree that they are sticky as hell. They feel great and give you tons of confidence when cornering.  My only complaint is that I would only get about a season and half out of them, but then again the roads here in PA are pretty crappy too. I threw some Battleaxes on this time to see if I can squeeze some more miles outta those.

Just put the demons on today and i love them all ready. I was going to wait to get a set but I got a nail in the rear tire so I just went ahead anf got them. With the demons and the race tech springs (.85) and CEs ( also put them in today ) she feels like a totaly different bike.  :thumb:

hmm...
Even though I'm Italian, I'm afraid I can't catch up with the meaning of this sentence...
I've always known that Pirelli was just a family name :icon_mrgreen:

back to topic, I bought my GS equipped with a set of SportDemon's.
I still feel in the n00b phase so I haven't reached bottom of the shoulder yet, but anyway they give me a very good impression, even though they're quite old (to be replaced soon).
Something tells me that my new rubbers will be SportDemon's again.

I havent tried the Demons yet, and I may yet, but the BT's are just basic biased ply tires, I did go with the AVON Azera's AV45/46st (110/80 and 140/80's) and man what a world of differences, before I was not confident in turns, now I am no longer afraid to lean into one...  :thumb:

I would go with the pirelli's but the shop (which quite a few guys have tried the pirelli's) told me because of the heat in texas summers, they basically melt-of (figure of speach) and they only get about 5-6K on them,  too soft a compound for cement 100+ roads I guess... then again this is true of pirelli tires for cars as well, so not really dificult to beleive. They are the ones that suggested the Avons with the policy ride them for 1 month not happy bring them back and well put pirelli's on them if you prefer. (hey ...what can I loose..!)

:thumb:

how bout the metzeler 140/80/17 in the rear with stock wheel?  will that fit good?

any downsizes?

Looking to pick up a set of these for my second track day. Local price is

   Pirelli Sport Demons
130/70-17 $135.99
110/70-17 $120.95

$80.00 for install

Is that fair? or could I get lower?

also...if anyone is in the area and could help with install, I wouldn't mind saving $80. I'll buy ya a 12 pack

EDIT:
http://www.ronayers.com/catalogs/tires/parts.cfm?secid=3&type=212

gives me $92.43  front and $104.02  rear. Overall savings $60. Although my local place does price matchin so I'll just show them this and get the same price.

NiceGuysFinishLast

$80 for install is refuckingcockulous.

Local shops here do em for 50 a pair when you DON'T buy the tire from them, and like $30/pair when you do buy the tires from them... the tire prices are ok though.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

I'm about to get my second SD put on the back of the bike in the next week or so. I got 10,000 km's out of mine, which I did in 18 months.

So yeah I'm impressed by them & I think for the money there's no better tyre.  :thumb:

As a testament to how I feel about my Pirelli's, I have a little story:

My second set was cooked, and needed another. I went to no less than three dealerships, where they all told me the Pirelli's were on back order until next - never. I guess Canadian/Italian relations have gone to shlt.

I ordered my Pirelli's from parts411.com, and patiently waited for them to arrive to my doorstep. It took over two weeks, including time in customs. During that time, I was still riding on the cooked set - in the dry and in the wet. The rubber was at it's wear bars in the center of the rear, and the right side of the front was cupping so bad from the abuse I had put on those tires from a few of my favorite on/off ramps over the past 15,000km. And yet, the tires still held pretty good - not perfect, but they still gave me grip.

The SD's I now have are my third set. I could have gotten Bridgestones or Avons (The BT-45's were in stock at one of the dealerships) but I refuse to put on anything else but the Pirelli's.

As a side note, that picture of my exhaust has put more than a few blow hards in their place about the "little girl's bike" I own.
