hey ya guys quick question for someone who may know,,
I was given a 92 GS500E as a gift. It sounds like it runs perfect but.....
When I let the clutch out in first I have to rev up the engine to 7k or more just to get going without stalling (as if it were in 4th gear and I was trying to start off). Then once I am moving it has very little response and no power, I have to almost redline it to get up to speed. It isnt missing and the enginge sounds like its running fine, any ideas???
Thanks for any help!!!

If the engine is running fine, the first thing comes to mind is the clutch. Either it is not adjusted properly and is slipping or it is worn and slipping.
Common sense in not very common.

Yup D is right. If it revs and revs and revs and does not move that = clutch.
However if you stall it while attempting to move it with 3K or so, you aren't getting right amount of fuel or air or something is badly clogged, like the air filter ...
Cool.
