I have a 1992 GS500E for sale.  I bought this bike a year ago and have been fixing it up a little bit since then.  I don't have the time to work on it anymore and this would be a great opportunity for someone that has a little bit of time and some bike knowledge.  The bike has 16404 miles on it, around 50 or so are mine.  The previous owner did say that the bike was dropped in the garage once, but nothing major.  The bike has been kept in the garage from the previous owner and from me and is in good shape for a 92.  Here are some picks of the bike:

Click on any of the pictures and you can get a full size image.

Like I said the bike needs some work and I don't have time to do it, but with some work it will be a good investment, especially with gas prices going up.  I have done a few things on the bike in the past year.  Recently I did a POR-15 treatment on the gas tank to remove some rust.  I cleaned the carbs and rejetted, but this will need to be done again as the jets (I believe) are too big and the sliders need cleaned.  I replaced the air filter with a high performance K&N lunchbox.

There are a few other things that need to be done.  The fork seals need replaced, along with the rear turn signals.  Again the carbs need cleaned and I'm not sure the exact problem but the bike has a high idle.  So if you have time, this bike could work out for you.  Cosmetically, The gas tank has paint missing in one area and a few scratches.

I am asking for $850 for the bike.  It has a clean title which could easily be transferred.  I would prefer a buyer that is close to the Northwest Ohio area, but I could possibly consider shipping.  The bike has a SuperTrapp exhaust on it which alone is worth $300.  I also have new tires that I haven't put on the bike and RaceTech fork springs that are also not on the bike.  I will sell these with the bike as well, but would like $950 if you want these, otherwise I will just sell them separate.  The tires are Michelin Pilot Active tires and are worth 70 a piece, and the Race Tech springs are another $90.  So it would definitely be worth the extra $100 for the bike and these are good upgrades.  If no one is interested in the bike, I will be selling the springs and tires at a later time.

If there are any questions about the bike, feel free to contact me on the forum or you can email me at josephduffey@hotmail.com.   Thanks for looking.

The tank has paint missing in one area from gas getting spilled on it.  Didn't think this bike was going to be that interesting to everyone, but I really don't have time to work on it so I want someone to have it that can use it.

Baco - Srini is the short for another name ... srinivas (very very common ... ) Srinath is usually abbreviated to sri ... even that is very un common ...

Well the bike is still for sale, I had one guy from the forum come and look at it.  The bike needs work, so if you are able to do it, this would be a great buy.

I'm tempted... Only thing holding me back is fork seals, every post I've read about that sounds like a real Buddha Loves You to do... Maybe...

And it looks like the whole thing would need painted. Not sure how well I could do that with rattle cans, would cost a lot to get painted.

baco99

paint, schmaint.
the fork seals can either be really easy, or really difficult.  my left side was easy, the right side was difficult and is still not 100%.

The Buddha

Yup ... hate both paint and fork seals ...
However I'd throw that 89 body I have on it. And the fork legs I have with new seals since I am going katana on my other one.
Then tank gets powdercoated ...  ...
Cool.

I'm willing to tackle fork seals. Paint though... Wonder how much maaco would charge if I prepped all the parts and took them in...

If I could get a decent paint job for $200 I'd do it. I need that 'my friend paints on the side' connection...

baco99

try your local trade school.  they'd probably do it for materials cost only and you'd get better work than Maaco.

lilbill

Just wondering if you still have the bike for sale?

How high is the idle?

By the way...where in northwest Ohio are you?
