I am concerned about something. The front brake line doesnt look right. With twin disc setups you usualy find a T-piece towards the bottom of the line and not 2 seperate lines coming off the reservoir like in the picture. If you are going to run like that its vital you put a copper sealing washer between, and banjo-unions as well as the ones either side and use a longer bolt. If you are going to change it before taking it on the road fair enough but if you use it the way its stands the old-bill and the MOT will kick off big time if they see it.

MOT is a good thing really, stops a lot of potentialy dangerous bikes from getting out on the road. Check this out and see what is involved, you will find it interesting. Over here a bike has to be inspected before its been registered for 3 years then every year after that.......otherwise the law will take a keen interest!!

What concerns me about Jays bike and the brakes is covered in section 3.1.5....under "Modifications to the braking system"

Jay?
Its not a common practise to fit 2 banjo-unions together in the way shown in the pic. The Unions are the round ends of the brake lines that fix into the reservoir. There must be a copper sealing washer either side of the banjo otherwise brake fluid will leak when its under pressure. I may be wrong but I cant see one in the pic. Just because thats the way it came it doesnt mean its right and you cant take chances with your brakes, you should get it double checked.

The Buddha

Yep ... crush washer between each banjo and between bolt flange and banjo and caliper and banjo and master cyl and banjo ... and you cannot reuse these crush washers. By definetion, crush them ... they cant be uncrushed. Heck, I see so many with deep ass grooves on them ...
The pressures in there will make a thin stream of fluid come squirting out at the worst possible moment.
Cool.

Instead of dogs ballz, try mutt's nut's, or the dog's dangly bit's. I can't say that about my dog as he lost his a while back
The more I learn about women, the more I love my bike.

Ian,
that is the typical 2 line setup on many bikes
well with SS lines

Last bike I owned with twin-discs was a bog-stock 400/4 and that had a tee-piece in the line. Cant honestly say I have ever seen 2 banjos on top of each other like that but in saying that I only buy old stuff..... I cant afford new kit......not on these fuggin`wages

ben2go

My 95 Katana F/E has a tee,no no dual banjo union. My ss line may be.I'll know when I get it.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

Jay_wolf

There Goodritch if that helps , i have a full SS set all over , rear and front , still have my front Gs one , hmmm, No idea Dudes , Your the masters not me lol , i just followed instructions to fit lol

That is a problem using spacers. The steering lock will not be useable without moddifing the catch to accept the higher lock.
Common sense in not very common.

Jay_wolf

i see . well if a bike doesnt have one , then it doesnt have one , i have a imobeliser, that will be fitted by Mot time ,

dgvyer   no   offense  but you can make the stearing lock obsoleat by parking it  next to a gsxr  or a cbr  chances are good they will steal those instead.
