I found a way to fix the only thing i don't like about my bike so mom's still looking.  the CB750k i thought might be interesting has turned up nothing so we're moving on.

She called me up a while ago and said she'd found a nice 2006 Honda Rebel 250 that she loved...she said the guy wanted $2500 for the bike so I told her not to do it.  Too much for a used Rebel...even if it was basically new.  Since she's willing too spend that much, though, I've pointed her to a Vulcan 500 that's right up the road from her place.  That guy wants $1500 for the bike and it's only problem is a huge dent in the tank.  I can get a new tank for $60 so that's not an issue and the guy will probably sell for closer to $1250...just a better deal all around.  Plus the motor's the same basic thing as what's in the EX500, and those motors are basically the same as the old 454...been around for...ever...bulletproof and simple like the the GS powerplant.

of course now I need to find a bike-knowledgeable person in the Spring, TX area to go check this one out but oh well.

I used to own an '86 454, and while it handled GREAT!! (two thumbs up  :thumb: :thumb: ), the waterjacket was horribly rusted and rusted out the two verticle coolant tubes coming out of the top of the head.  Definitely have a look into the radiator; two #2 philips screws to take off the radiator shroud.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Yeah and it's a problem they NEVER fixed!  All the EN's and EX's have the exact same issue...the tubes rust.  They make this stuff you can run through your cooling system to eat the rust away but I can't remember what it's called.  As long as it's only had antifreeze in it the tubes should be fine on the inside, though...that's what really screws them up...boobs putting tap in the cooling system.
