With a new job, I don't have the time to ride my GS as much as I'd like to. I plan on putting up some pics within the next day or so....eh, make it day or three since Thursday is my birthday.

93 GS 500

The good:
- 11,6xx miles
- tank and plastic were painted blue and the wheels were painted charcoal grey about 2 years ago
- K&N air filter
- carbs rejetted last year. guy who did them said there's a stage 1 kit in there, but I'm not 100%. If it's in there, I didn't put it in there.
- carbon-fiber turn markers (much smaller than the stock GS markers)
- carbon-fiber brake/clutch levers
- carbon-fiber mirrors (also much smaller than stock GS mirrors)

The not-so-good (I won't call it bad, since it's mostly minor stuff)
- tach cable needs replaced. Worked intermittently at the end of last year, but when I started it up this year, it hasn't shown any sign of life.
- previous owner to me took a minor spill, and the exhaust is scraped. He said spill, but I'm thinking maybe 2 spills since there's scuffs that look like theyre from 2 different angles.
- needs rear brakes. I have them, but don't have time to put them on since I'm working 50+ hrs a week.
- could use an oil change. Approximately 1000 of riding last year, but I would like to make that change once per riding season. I have three qts of Suzuki oil that I'll be throwing in. Not that it will make or break a deal, but I thought it might save a buyer a few minutes of running around.
- rust along the bottom of the exhaust pipe. This has been an ongoing issue since I bought it. Since I've had it, I've been regularly taking a wire brush or steel wool and knocking out whatever rust shows up. Usually it'll last a few weeks before I have to clean it up again.
- scrape on the right side plastic. this is not from a dump. this was from somebody...ok, it was from me sticking one of those helmet bungee things on back when the paint was still soft. I pulled it off and left the scrape on the right side.

The bad
About halfway through a tank, it'll stop getting gas. I'm guessing this is a fuel filter or reserve tank switch (the name is slipping my mind right now) issue.

If needed I have an old HJC helmet I can throw in. It's not in the best of shape, as it too is from the previous owner.

If there are any questions, please post em or PM me.  Keep in mind I'm don't have much of a mechanical background, but I'll do my best to answer those and any other questions.

Thanks in advance,

JS

Did you say where the bike is located?

JS

no I didn't, but that's probably important.

I'm about 70 mi east of Pittsburgh in a town called Johnstown

I'm listening to any offers right now, as long as they're within reason.

When you say that it stops getting gas, does the engine completely shut off or just surge and buck like it is being starved for fuel?

Also, how does it run when it is above a half tank?

Finally, are the rear brakes included in the sale?

Thanks so much,
lilbill

You guys in Johnstown really love the GSs don't you?

Sorry about not getting pics up this past weekend. I've been a bit of a slackass, and I had reserves on Saturday and Sunday and didn't get back until late on Sunday.

Anyways, this is an older pic of what the bike looks like. The signals weren't on the bike at the time.

I am going to be in State College the 14th and 15th.  Johnstown is a little bit of a trek from Allentown, but if the bike has not sold by the 14th, I'd like to come check it out.  I'll get in contact with you sooner to the date, and you can let me know if you're available.

Thanks
