I just took my carbs down to see what jetts I have. I noticed the black sliding piece the holes are slitly melted . should I clean the hole out.

What!?

What sliding black piece?  What hole is slightly melted?

Does it look like a hole that needs to be clear?
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

I have to assume the "sliding black piece" is the slide, and the holes are the "damping" holes in the bottom. Sounds like someone tried to mod them...

Sorry guys I was trying to type and talk to a client that wanted to sit around and talk, at 5pm. WTF
yeah the slide it looks like it's back fired one to mant times, those two holes are slitly melted closed. Should i carefully open thhem back to the stock size.

I stop at a friends house on the way home he has a mercury vacume gauge for syncing carbs so after I jett it I'll be learning how to use it.

I do have one more Question though, there is a vacume hose that T's into both carbs at the top " what is it supposed to hook to there is nothing there?

Just the carb vent, it doesn't connect to anything. Just make sure it's not kinked, pinched or blocked.

Melted slides ... oy ... never seen that ... but I guess it can happen ... I'd replace it, unless your slides are moving up and down exactly together it will make for a shitty ride.
How is that white slide guide ??
Cool.
