It's looking more and more like Indy Motor Speedway will have a Motogp Race in the fall of 2008. Laguna is nice but I hate California. Time to start making plans Indy MC road trip here I come!
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

I'm there in a freakin heartbeat ...

BTW - what's happened with MotoGP and the Speed Channel ? They were on sundays , but now all I can find is the FIM Super-whatever (stock or sport .. i dunno) with a bunch of dudes I don't know . It's a lot harder to get into the race when you don't care who wins lol

CBS broadcast the last GP race. I need to check the schedule but I believe they have the next one as well.

I prefer FIM over AMA. AMA has become a little to much like nascar. Of course I am a little upset with FIM atn, it appears they are going to cave to Ducati and allow them to bump their displacement to 1200cc's.

Eh , AMA letting those Buells through was BS too . I betcha Ducati would love to put one of their new 800cc'ers like the one Stoner has out on the FIM grid .

Arghh .... I haven't seen a  good race in weeks , and it's just sinking in lol ... i coulda watched it on network TV ???!!! @#%#@$^%^#

Yeah but look at how the buells are doing, In FIM Ducati is very competetive in the WSBK they won the constructors points championship last year and are leading it this year. Ducati wants to run the 1098 in WSBK and drop the 998 from their lineup. With Homologation rules they have to produce I believe 3,000 units for retail sale to race it on the track since they want to move development of their superbike line to the larger engine they would not be able to race, they pulled out of AMA this year for that very reason. The AMA said no we are not going to allow you to run a bigger bike.

I would like to see AMA reinstitute a 750 class for racing to get Honda to get back into the 750 engine class bikes it was always my favorite for the balance of power and handling. I just don't like the Gixxer.

Blasphemy !!!

Actually , I have started devoloping a grudge against them , as all the squiddish-type new riders i've seen want a "Gixxer" . I even heard one calling it a "Jizzer" when I was picking up my jets . He kinda scoffed when he overheard they were for a GS500 . The dude at the counter leaned over and told me that the guy was waiting for his Mom to come co-sign for his Ninja ES250 lol . The Ninja's have always been on my "Blech" list for that very reason (though i've been seriously considering a ZZR over the YZF600R or FZ6 ... so much that i've put off going to buy a new bike until work slows and I can spend more time checking them all out)

Alright , so in FIM they have to be production (or at least "limited production") , and in MotoGP they can't share parts with production bikes ? I don't remember for sure , but I think I asked this before ... I think it's the first conversation I ever got into on this board , and it was with you B.P. hehe

Homologation rules are put into place to keep manufacturers from building 1 off race bikes, Both AMA and FIM require you to race a bike that is available to the general public. MotoGP does not have a homologation rule they can run anything they want within the engine and weight restriction limits.

Since neither FIM or AMA have a 750 race class no one wants to bother building and developng them, when the 750 class went away Suzuki did the smart thing and created the Suzuki cup because the 750 is a very popular bike to race in WERA and CMRA.

I would love to have MotoGP at Indy, I might actually get a chance to watch a race live if that happened.

Also, CBS is broadcasting the race on June 31st, and another on July 17th. One is Assen, I've forgotten what the other is.

Just watched it (yay for the rain BTW lol ... I was late getting home and thought i'd missed it  :icon_mrgreen: plus i think the rain really gives a good indicator of rider skill) ... the "info" on Dish Network said "Derby , England" instead of Donnington . Is "Derby" the racetrack name or something ?

Also , does anyone know why they call it the Nickel & Dime race ?
