I go in for surgery at 9:15 in the morning But this is it, after this I'm done.   Did Pre-op today.  Doc said I'll probably have it bandaged for a couple of days but after that I can use my thumb again Just very gently.   He also looked over my bloodwork and saw something that explains why I don't respond to most pain-killers.....He said post-op he'll write me a scrip for oxycontin

some people have a natural blocker to many of the pain killers

careful with that oxy! that shaZam! is scary addictive

watch the caffeine, it binds with narcotics and can make them act funky

I usually just take the pain.
I have an unnaturally high pain tolerance anyway.

I have a high pain tolerance but when I do feel it it's bad....he's only writing me 10 pills at a time so he can keep it in check   It runs in my family.......my mom doesn't respond to any of the normal shaZam! either

Painkillers are weird... Vicadin has absolutely no effect on me, but percocet works really well. Percocet worked too well actually, it was rather pleasant and makes you understand how people become addicted to that stuff...

My neighbor was a huge oxycontin junkie. His knees were shot and he needed total knee replacement in both legs, but couldn't have the surgery since he weighed 400 lbs and would never put weight on those new knees. He had an oxycontin pump implanted in his chest, that's hardcore...

Woah , i'd better not tell my dad about the pump  He was taking FOUR 80mg oxycontins a day for his COPD & degenerative bone disease ... we had to put him in the hospital so they could adjust his dose 'cause he was down to like 98lbs (he's 5'6" or so) and was always nodding out

I am unfortunately allergic to codeine so that nixes a lot of painkillers for me..

shaZam!!!!  allergic to codeine    Toridol is nice and non codeine based pretty sure it only comes in IV form though

Everything went good   I was only in the OR for like 20 minutes   He ended up just yanking the hell out of the pin    It's a little swollen and sore so I'm gonna start PT'ing it myself tommorow

I got to keep the pin Holy f%$k it was just over 4 inches long with 3.5 of that actually inside my hand/wrist.....no wonder it was so fuckin uncomfortable

I took one at like 5pm yesterday and just woke up     I'm gonna throw in my medicine cabinet.....doesn't really hurt that bad....lortab's will do the trick
