Gas cap flap

The flap that covers the gas cap lock on my 93 is loose and flops around while riding.  When I took the cap mechanism apart, a small ball bearing and a "cup" slightly bigger than the bearing with two holes in it fell out.  I'm assuming the bearing is part of a catch mechanism for the flap.  Should there also be a small spring that presses the ball bearing and cup against the bottom of the flap?  Anyone have a parts diagram of the innards of the gas cap lock and/or spare parts for the lock?

I don't think there's a catch , mine's just held down with spring pressure from the hinge side

I don't see a spring under there anywhere or around the flap hinge.  If there's no catch, what're the ball and cup for?

could be for holding the flap open when u bring it all the way up...

I had to go verify hehe . The spring pushed the ball bearing up into the piece of the flap that the rod goes through . It's kinda like a cam in that it's not a straightup cylinder , it has a steeper section . At the top & bottom are detentes (depressions ... maybe i spelled it right hehe) that the B.B. slips into while either opened or closed (mine won't stay open though)
