Howdy folks,

Just picked up a pretty clean gs500 from a buddy at work who was using it like a shelf in his garage, kind of a 2 wheeled really inefficient shelf I guess you could say. It hasn't been on the road in quite some time, and needs the carbs cleaned/rebuilt for sure, but with a little work it should come out pretty nice.

Stack of parts and a book it came with...

And after a few hours of owning it....

I let the carb bolts soak in wd40, most of em came off with an impact screwdriver. Looks like one might need to be drilled out, time to dig up my extractor bits I guess.

Anyone have recommendations for buying replacement screws and a rebuilt kit? Looks like standard ebay price is ~40 for the pair, just not familiar with what brands to watch out for.

well the easy way is with img tags

is what you use to display pics rather than the image souce as a link ;)

if you upload images to www.imageshack.us it has one field that you can copy from that has the img tags all ready to go

i can't wait to get off work so i can stop trolling the net and get that last screw out of the carb...
dont mind my weird posting hours, i work graveyard shift :P

had a busy weekend so far. got a parts bike with lots of parts i wanted on it. has exhaust(can & header tape wrapped manifold), a lunchbox filter, new tires(unmounted), and a new chain. also the motor is good and only 12k miles(spares rule).
here it is in my truck with my bro, well deserved taco's for him after helping me go get it and load it. don't mind the tires tucking in the rear, it always does  ;) it's got air bags in the back i keep jacked up enough to keep it riding well when im hauling/towing. you can thank my bro for that ride, he opted to sell it to me and get a classic to tow his boat with.

i plan on taking the wheels in to get new tires put on, then painting them. dont know what color yet though...

tip: motorcycle jack at pep boys is 60 -  30 mail in rebate til 8/4/07, i couldnt pass it up (posting in for sale to get the word out  :thumb:)

now just waiting on carbs to get back from being rebuilt to try starting her up with new goodies

Welcome!

Nice looking GS you have there.  '94-'95?

Boxes of spare parts are always good!
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?
