I need a truck capable of hauling three motorcycles and four dudes in the cab.  So I'm thinkin V6.

I'm looking to get a new(-ish) midsize truck sometime this fall or early next spring.  I like the Tacoma alot, but the Nissan Frontier seems to be a little less expensive.  What's the scoop on the Frontier?  Anyone know anything about them?  I know the previous generation has a supercharger on the V6 and the current gen does not.  Im not a big fan of the domestics, but are there any other vehicles I should consider?  What's the best bang for my buck?

3 bikes will NOT fit in the bed, although you didnt specify what you wanted or how you wanted to haul bikes. ( in bed or on trailer or both), i can get 2 bikes in my frnotier but also the option of dodge dakota or chevy's offerings, or lookinto an entry level full size truck :thumb:

I should have been more specific..

I intend on using a flat-bed trailer for the bikes.

If I were buying a new mid sized, Taco and Frontier would be at the top of my list (I own a 98 Taco).  Next I'd say Ranger, but I think it's a bit smaller and doesn't offer a crew cab, other than the Explorer Sport Trac... if they even make that anymore.  My friend has a Colorado and loves it, but I'm not convinced of the long term quality yet.  V6 would probably be more appropriate for your load.  I know for my truck, the gas mileage for the V6 vs. the I4 is about the same (unless you get the little I4 real basic 2wd).

Bottom line, I'd go test drive all the ones you think you'll like and even some of the ones your not sure about... that's half the fun of buying a new vehicle

at least averaging 15mpg, which is fine because It won't be my daily driver, that's what the SV is for.

I currently have a car(which will be a trade-in), but I use it about 2 months out of the year, and for the occasional trip to the grocery store.  My car has been on the same tank of gas since July  :icon_mrgreen:

I started looking at mid size trucks over a year ago.  I did test drive them all (except the Ford,  I personally can't stand fords and wouldn't have bought one anyway)  For towing, power, interior, resale, mileage the top two where to tocoma and the frontier.  The Tocoma is a tad more expensive but the interior was a bit more luxurious.  I had finally settled on the Frontier.  (but bought a used Titan, I want to tow a bit more than the Frontier will handle)

I even rented one to take on vacation last year.  I got 22 mpg while flying over the mountain passes. (no trailer though).  The Frontier is quite roomy for a midsize.  I think that it would do great for you.  If you are concerned for interior space I can tell you that the 4 door Titan is HUGE.  Even bigger than the 1 Ton Dodge Cummings that I drive at work.  I am getting 15 mpg with mine right now.  (In town, no towing)

I hope this helps.  Feel free to ask for more if you have more questions.
