YAY just picked up my GS500F and i love it. Neva ridden on the road b4 (on my L's) and i had to ride it 100k's to get home in the pouring rain and i love it  :thumb:..... more than quick enough and heaps of fun.... Sellin my car (my gf's got one if i need it)..... This sounds stupid but i can wait to go to work 2moz!!!!!!

one thing tho i know its still in the runnin in period but at about 70k's at 35000rpm when i change to 5th only theres like a bearing sort of buzz noise.....which goes away at about 85k's or 4500rpm.... Am i just labouring the engine changing up too soon??? what you rekon? Young and dumb sorry

Not sure if you mean posting pics in the thread or in the gallery, but here is an excellent write-up on how to do it.

sounds like you may be lugging the engine at 3500 ... should be shifting around 4 - 5k.

Blasphemar!!!!

shift when it starts making that really irritating noise at about 10.5k,  or at the top of your power band at about 9k.

Nice thought so......  :thumb: 10rpm sounds good :D

Dude, I did the exact same thing. Sold my car to buy a GS, but my GF still has a car so I don't think I'll have problems hauling stuff.

Well worth the trade I might add :)

If you shift at 9K you lose acceleration I would think.  When it kicks up in the next gear your RPMs would be below the power band.  I shift at 10K when I'm trying to accelerate this way it starts at around 8K when the next gear kicks in and I stay in the band.
Best Regards,

powerband runs from 5500 to 8500... no noticeable increase beyond 8500 (or is it 9K? I don't remember)..

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

ehhh, somewhere between 8500 and 9k..........the year probably makes a difference as the fuel delivery is a little different...........
