long story short this started as a spare engine and rolling chassis bought from a friend.  i wanted a street fighter as all my other bikes are race bike that i cannot ride on the street.  so this was my bike that i can get away from it all on and enjoy myself.  hope you all like the way it turned out as much as i do.  i still have a few other odds and ends to tidy up but this is the way ti will look.

wow man diggin the machine you've got there.  I wish my frame could be powdercoated black or something like that!  That is one  O0 bike.  Just started priming all my plastics 2 days ago now and its getting ready for a matte black coat.

The gloss black treatment works great, makes the bike look even smaller.

Did you powder coat it all, rattle can, or what ?

tail light is off a 05-06 636.  i had it from my race bike and it tucked in there really nicely.  frame was cut off about 8" from the back.  total strip down of frame and body work and everything was just painted with an etching primer.  wanted to do it as inexpensive as possible.  hardest part of the whole job was getting those dam turn signals to work with LED's and keep everything hidden.  it was a fun job i am just glad it is over so i can enjoy riding it this fall during the change of the leaves here in the North east.

thanks for the compliments guys tried to keep it was simple as possible, i guess it worked.

That's a sick bike!! Good job :thumb:

All you gotta do now is get rid of that stock mirror.

..Well, it's a bike I would not own, I need something for everyday use.
No side plastics = no (even crappy) underseat storage. :icon_confused:
No passenger pegs = no possibility to carry a passenger. :icon_confused:
No rear fender, or hugger = getting soaked at the first pool I meet. :icon_confused:

...oh, f%§k me and all my lies...It's a damn LOVELY little bike!!!!!!!
I like so much the color and all its looks. :icon_mrgreen:
Excellent job, mate, go on like this. Simple, clean, tidy, yet smart and aggressive somehow. :thumb:
The rear Kawa light fits in there absolutely well. :thumb:
By the way, just a couple questions:
-what rubbers do you have on it? (make&model, I mean) and how do they behave?
-I can't see the stock fuel petcock. Did ya get rid of it?

Congrats again!

You painted it black, removed the side plastics, chopped off part of the frame, and stuck a new tailight on it?  :cookoo: At least put the effort into it to redo the frame or use different side plastics if you are going to just leave the stock frame and components mounted to it just sitting there.

C'mon. He was kidding!  :icon_lol: Just read the whole thing he wrote. He digs the bike big time. Like most of us. I'd say an ultimate GS500 streetfighter.
IMHO the bike will be fine as an 'everyday warrior' (though it's stripped to the bone). If you need to haul little things -- a tank bag and/or a backpack is plenty.

I'll shut up. It's a beautiful piece of work. Period... Respect.

thanks again guys.

the bike does not have to be practical or powerful, i wanted something that stuck out in a crowd and was cheap (would you believe i only have about 800 into it)  i like the street fighter look and wanted something that was a streetfighter but since my street riding consists of riding with the wife at slow speeds i was over heating my track bike so i figure why not a hopped up GS.  the tires are pilot race i have to ride they a little but they semeds good so far.

and as for hiding the rest of the battery box and stuff, there is no room on the GS and i wanted to see the frame so ti stayed where it was.  maybe il fide a new home under the lunch box but for now i am happy.

BTW it is a sleeper as GS' go
stage 3 jet kit, lunchbox, heads decked .020", heads ported, race cams, springs and emulators up front with a works rear shock, it started life as a race bike so i am really looking forward to opening it up on the backroads.  I have clip-ons and might throw then on but for now i like the feel of the bike.  i race the 636 once a month and my 520ktm SM 1-2 time a week so i get my excitement there.
