Hello everyone. Im new to the forum and new to owning a 2002 GS500.  Iver read all over the forum for tips and help with upgrading my bike. I ordered a k and n lunchbox air filter because I had a dirt dobber nest the size of my fist in the old standard air box when I bought it.  Ive read all the jetting posts and I could only find the posts about rejetting the 2000 and below models.

Has anyone actually rejetted using pilot 20, mid-main 62.5, and the main 142.5. If so did it work out pretty well or should I try a different jet setting.

The other question I had was about the stock shock.  Everyone says to use the Katana 600 shock, but what year models fit it best?

I also just ordered the progressive springs as well, but no question needed from that, just letting you know what Im doing as opposed to what I should be doing.

Is there anything else I should know before I continue on getting this puppy set up right?  Sorry if all these questions had been answered before.  I looked and looked and
didnt find out every detail in full yet.

Thanks you guys, looking forward to hearing from you.

with jetting you will have to experiment but combination you wrote seems to be good starting point if you have stock muffler.
progressive springs... I want them! but I'm broke... :)
katana shock - if you ride a lot on twisties or if you race you will need better rear shock than stock, you could also use SV650 shock I think...  but if you do not race or ride crazy twisties stock rear should be fine for now. most important is front but you took care of that already.
other mods?? GOOD riding GEAR for yourself and just have fun
cheers
