Hi folks,

My 98 gs500e has a pickup issue.

When I give it a throttle from a regular cruising speed.....it's rev's up...the engine RPM increases...and then after like a couple of seconds it picks up fast.

Do you know the cause of the delay between the throttle and the pickup?

I am going to try some Fuel Stabilizer to clean, as someone suggested that would clean the carbs.

Thanks for any insights.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

I tried this "Fuel Stabilizer" that you put in the gas tank, as suggested by my neighbor who is also a mechanic. He seems to use it for his jetski's and bike as well. After using it just once so far, the performance has greatly improved. This is without opening/cleaning the carbs.

The fuel stabilizer appears to have done the trick...as far as the lag and even performance. Will use it for a couple of tank fill ups and then see how it performs without it. Otherwise, I might just have to open the carbs to clean them.

Thanks. Will keep you posted on how it operates after a while.
