Drawer Liner as Tank Bag Padding?

Hi All,

I read on another Website that those foam-rubber rolls of Drawer-Toolbox Liner make great tank bag padding for some extra protection.
I want to try it out. But, every roll I see has a warning "Not for use on lacquered or urethane surfaces. Finish damage can occur."
Anyone know if this stuff is ok to have on my tank? I thought most automotive paints were lacquer.
