First time ridding in pouring rain, that was an experience. First thing i realized- need to buy pants! - the outside of my jeans were soaked in 15 min. My jacket held up pretty good the mesh was soaked but the rain liner kept me dry. as for the gloves, well lets just say i was adding watter to the shield when i tried to wipe it . in the end being slightly wet didnt bother me too much compared to leaving my bike outside in the pouring rain for almost 3 hours- dried her off with a leaf blower when i got home  :icon_mrgreen: . any advice on some riding pants that double as rain gear? - there goes my birthday money .

oh and damn those plastic lane markers are a death trap!!  :o

Hey becareful up there, I was planning on riding early tomorrow.  Rain is just starting down here in Ventura. Rain really teaches the fine art of riding huh?

I read an interesting article on rain. Done in a TWO magazine i think. They raced round a track with gixxer thou' with stock tires. Then waited for the predicted terrential rain and raced round the track again comparing lap times and lean angle. Turns out you still get 95% of the lean you normally would get in the wet even on stock tires just when they are warm. Not that i would EVER try and reinact their testing and prove it to myself but nice to know if i did have to lean along way to avoid something it is more possible than i believed before reading the article and seeing the results. I ride in rain all the time England for ya.

my first time in rain wasn't pleasant either. It was heavy rain. I've never been on a highway before. but that day I just had to ride!! even though I didn't want to. I had appointment scheduled.... ROAD TEST at DMV testing site  :o       cool ha?? me NOOB first time riding in a rain, first time on the highway (LIE)  beautiful day for an exam.....
but I made that. I passed the test and safely came back home  :thumb:
the worst thing was fogged windshield! I had to keep it opened a tiny bit to allow the air dry the fog off. crap.
did I mention that even my boxers were wet? No I didn't have proper rain gear: waterproof jacket only...

Good experience though  :thumb:

It's funny but I have not ridden in any serious rain this year.
Bought a new pair of waterproof boots late last yearr and still don't know if they work.
In the three years before I have ridden thousands of miles in the rain.
Some of the monsoon variety.
GS does a good job in the rain.
Just take it nice and easy.
My V-Strom does even better in the rain.
Windshield and hand guards help a lot in nuisance rain.
For the serious stuff I just put on my First Gear Splash rain suit and it's off I go.

my pants rock
what brand are they?  where did you buy them?  I'm definitely looking from some good abrasion-resistant waterproof pants.

Just get a taped seam rainsuit for like 50 bucks from any of the big motorcycle stores.  Throw them over your regular gear and have a fun day.
