bent plate guide - chain adjuster

seems I have a bent plate guide (chain adjuster thingy).... I took it off hammered it back flat and put it back on seemed alright but now after 600km trip it is bent again.... any ideas to the reasons for this? axle not done up tight enough? wheel alignment not quite right? only happening on the sprocket side.... it seems almost as if the plate guide is too small for the end of the swing arm, when you tighten it it seems to want to move so it is then not flush with the swing arm end.... here are some pics

make sure the axle bolt is torqued down( 75ish Nm) , unless you've been wheelie-ing

Yep axle nut is not tight enough. If the axle is tight enough that shouldn't move unless your doing stupid things like pulling wheelies of curbs or drive through massive potholes. Loosen of the axle nut, straighten up the wheel and make the plate flat again. then put it in place - make sure its centralised. Once you know its all square and in the right place and the wheel is square then tighten the axle nut down hard. You can't over torque it just using as much of your arm strength as you have.

Yep, the axle nut isn't tight enough.

  yep no more wheelies, only tried once 15km/h 1st gear clutch in rev to 7k rpm clutch out..... nothing! I've only been riding a short time so wheelies are a bit down the track for me 

must have been the shear horsepower of the GS that warped the plate guide ... have straightened it out and tightened the axle quite tight... see how that goes.... thanks for your help/advice blokes
