My son and I completed a trip last July from Calif to Buffalo and back.  Next summer we are thinking about doing a trip to Alaska.

Has anyone done this trip and able to give any advice on fuel stops (how far in between, hotel avaiabilty and what you have to check in at

night.  Any other advice on this trip.  We learned a lot on the last trip but know this one will be a lot different.  Thanks for any advice.

Hi there,

I'm planning the same thing, although I doubt it will be until 2009.  Have a look at ADVrider.com  There are plenty of Alaska trip reports to go over, as well as lots of advice.

What are you planning to ride?
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

As mentioned, go to ADVRider, there's a ton of posts on it. Just search on "Alaska".  Especially check out the "Hoon on the Loose" thread.
Go the the bookstore and buy the "MilePost", it's the bible for NW Canada and Alaska travel.
There's also a short but informative post on the V-Strom forum at:
