I have about had it with this city. The GS500 was stolen twice, my Jeep has been rumaged through more times than I can count, then the doors were stolen and now my Buell has been stolen. I give up. I refuse to keep supplying these scum bags with nice things. I am going to sell my remaining vehicles and get an old beater CB-450 that is Bondo and primer coloured and chain a rotweiler to it when I am not with in firing range of it.

(it looked like hell.)could look into transferring to orlando? that thought had crossed my mind while i was there. :x  :guns:  :guns:  :guns:

Orlando aint much better on the bike thefts, fact, just about as bad as most places.   Bikes are hard to Theft proof. other then live coverage or titanium chains and locks no way of keeping them from walking/sliding/carted/even carried away. i seen some footage from a hidden porch cam,  pickup truck backed up to porch, tailgate dropped down(further then flat) one guy pulls on a cable and hooks it over the bike winching it tight against the tailgate, they get back in the truck and take off foot on the gas, this RIPPED the pole from the porch area and they got away. the whole vid sequence was 1.06 mins

i live in mesa arizona and im really worried about someone jacking my bike. I go to scottsdale community college and i see the few people who do have bikes just stick there helmets on there handle bars and walk away. i dont know about you but the 130 dollars i spent on my helmet means somthing to me
what comes up must come down

It's no better in Tucson.  I lived there for 5 years during school and had my car broken into 3 times and my apartment robbed twice.  Damn AZ is just a shitty state.
Must go faster!

Blueknyt

Florida from id say Mid state south sucks, panhandle aint too bad though.

Get a nice, sparkling new bike, a deer hunting tree stand, and a rifle.  Bait the bastards with the new bike and aim for center-mass.   :x

Do any of your neighbors have trouble with their stuff being stolen?  If not, you have enemies that you don't know about.

Wrencher

Just for the record:

Garage not an option at this point in time financially, esp with having to replace 2 bikes and 2 doors.

The bike(s) were locked but not covered which I think was the fatal flaw. The other bikes in the area are all covered and have been here happily for years. There is a car theft or somebody breaking into a car in our parking lot at least twice a week this time of year so its not a personal thing.

Yama, I will say I live VERY close to 1-17 and its an appartment, but I am somewhat reluctant to publicly post my address at this point in time. PM or email would probably do. We will be moving ASAP, but we just moved here and started school and I can't get any work so it might take a little while to amass the funds needed for first and down (I don't mean football).

The tree stand idea is appealing and I already have the guns. The only problem is this....AZ has palm trees and I would feel like a schmuck sitting in a palm tree with an .06 at 4am but the idea did occur to me.

Flaming Bird is my own way of slandering the Greater Metro Area of Phoenix....Flaming bird...the phoenix shall rise from the ashes....the phoenix from the flame....roasting tail feathers....yeah....I'm a dork.

Snapper, that sucks they the ripped off your bike cover too. Sorry to hear about that. I am sure it was in another thread, but how did you come by your title? Anything to do with Ghost or similar product?

Some time ago I read about a couple of English guys that where sick of thieves nicking their bikes and decided to learn them a lesson. They put the bike of a friend near the spot where lots of bikes were stolen and watched from a distance. After a few days waiting they saw someone fiddling with the locks. They pulled him in an alley and beat him up for almost half an hour.

It gave so much satisfaction that they set up a service. You could come into contact with them if your bike was stolen. They would place a bait-bike on the place where that bike was nicked and waited till the thief showed up.

This was in an English bike magazine or something. The reporter had asked if he could join them to see them in action.

Here it's also impossible to let an expensive bike parked on the street. \

That's why a lot of people in the city don't buy expensive bikes anymore. They get stolen and insurance is high. I see a lot of old bikes here. At least as much old bikes as new bikes.

Older bikes are more fun anyway. They are cheaper, cheaper to fix, cheaper in maintenance and don't get stolen when you let them parked on the street.

naah its none of my business where you live at, i had lived at bell towers, 33rd and bell rd., la palma 7th st and bell and crystal creek, also 7th st and bell. bike and car thefts were/are bad at bell tower, la palma and crystal creek are gated, so thefts not a major issue there, infact almost non existant. i finally ended up at the apt complex directly across the street from the school. yeah, got outta student housing, and ended up rooming with this psychotic korean. two days before i left, he shot a hole through the apt wall ind into the neighboring building. (with a gun i had sold to him to cover the rent. :guns:   as far as employment goes, i dont know what you want to work at while you are there, (again, none of my business), but pinkerton security, some posts pay close to $10 an hr. and physically you do almost nothing. boring, but perfect for study-time. anyhoo best of luck to you.
