I've already replaced the battery well once due to rust and after taking my bike out from storage I noticed it's getting bad again. It's rusting on the bottom and sides. I think I'm gonna just start regularly spraying/wiping down with WD-40. I don't want to strip it to bare metal and repaint.

I was curious to hear other ideas/solutions/stories about preventing rust on our bikes  :thumb: :thumb:

the only thing I can think of, is to just make a battery box of a metal that wont rust and weld/bolt it in.    I need to replace my subframe after noticing it rusting to hell, but I dont have a welder, so I might pay someone to weld some tabs onto my second subframe and this one so I can bolt it on.

Does automotive undercoating resist battery acid? I have seen more damage from battery acid than water.
Common sense in not very common.
