The immunize feature blocks known spy/adware.. from ever getting in your system. The (check for problems) is the main process to actually remove spy/adware

You need to>:

(1) Check for Updates
(2) Immunize... For some reason you have to do it twice.. You will see the Immunized and available to immunize  :thumb:
(3) The main thing... You need to use (CHECK FOR PROBLEMS) once it runs.. it will find problems, check the boxes then remove them  :thumb:

If you need any help feel free to PM  :thumb:

Viruses aren't really your main concern- Spyware will kill your computer
First get Firefox!!
2nd get Adaware from lavasoft
3rd get spybot search and destroy :icon_twisted:
4th get spyblaster - basically spybot immunization on steroids
and 5th get yourself a virus scanner listed above.
All free and will keep your comp safer. Also, Mess around with spybot there are some hidden features that will help also like the startup list and immunization.

Linux or a Mac - either way you're running as a normal user and not an administrator so you don't have to worry about viruses as much.

Ubuntu is a great operating system - repositories are amazing, it's built on the stable Debian core, and hardware support is outstanding.  Just about the only problem is Windows software.  Any games or graphics-intensive applications won't really work well.  But Wine can run a lot of the simpler applications like Microsoft Office or most tax programs.  Think about installing Ubuntu sometime - it's very friendly for new users.  And everything you install from repositories is completely free.  I can't imagine paying $300 for a piece of professional software any more when there is open source software out there that can do 90% of the same things for free.

i have been using the AVG Anti-Virus but the trial version has expired and i cannot find the download from free link.  does anyone have it or a comparable anti Virus/spyware link that is free and not just a limited time trial version?  thanks all.  oh BTW i only have 128 of ram so i need one that is not too big of a ram hog.

thanks all
