Dirt biking...just what did those dirty minds all come up with, hmmmmmm?  :icon_twisted:

My first day getting dirty..and BOY did I!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got up at 0-dark-thirty, and hit Starbucks for a mainline (just insert the coffee needle here, please). I was so excited I couldn't sleep the night before..or the night before that, but it wasn't a problem the night after getting dirty!! A good friend lent me all of her gear...she'd not even used it yet! What a friend!!! *insert hearts here*

I rode the little borrowed 100, and it's the perfect bike for a vertically-challenged n00b to start on. Plenty of power, not too tall, and not too difficult to kick start. My little itty-bitty bike is the one all the way in the back....#5!  :icon_mrgreen:

We started out on dry, hard-packed soil, and within an hour I was feeling pretty comfortable. I swear toward the end I got some air on one of the little jump hills! After that grand start, we had lunch, and then we headed out again.... Oh boy.....sand.... I can't say I loved the sand.... I think I might be too new for that??  I took a couple of little spills; the first time, a 6" bit of sand grabbed my tiny front tire, and down I went...hard! LoL! I got the bike up, got it started again, and started off again... oy.... That hurt!! So...about.....ooooh....2 minutes later, down I went again! gRRRr... This time I couldn't get the bike restarted, and was in a bad spot. My friend (who was wonderful!) got the bike and moi to a safe spot, got it restarted, and off we went again. Up...up....UP...and then dowwwwwwn... I was REALLY happy to hit the hard-packed dirt again (if you'll pardon the 'spression). Terror doesn't begin to describe that little part of the trail for me...I think I need more hard-packed trail practice....

Oops....I all ready broke it....

Ok...I didn't...tube/stem problem.  :icon_mrgreen:

All in all, I have one sprained ankle, one strained neck, more bruises than skin, a nasty bump on my chin (where my chin fought two battles with the handlebars when I crashed....and lost both times), I'm scratched, cut, and bruised, and I can't WAIT to do it all over again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm bruised and battered, but I'm not broken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My favourite part was the little "jumps." I'm not really jumping yet, but it won't be long...

I didn't really get any pics of moi (I was REALLY busy haha!!), but I was a very dirty girl, and I earned every speck of dirt on me! One of my mentors tried to wipe some of the dirt off, but I shooed him away. That was my dirt! LOL!!! I have to admit that I'm kind of proud of my dirt...

The little kids there are sooooo adorable!!!!

I'm hooked. I'm really thinking seriously about taking a dirt-school day...  I'm definitely going to get my own dirt bike... :icon_mrgreen:

Something to dream about for the future:  :icon_lol:

I'd planned on riding street on the Sunday after my first day of getting dirty.... but I don't think I could have thrown my leg over the SV.

Great job lady, you will pick it up fast if you keep goin. The learning curve is very gentle depending on the riding your doing.

Here is a pic of myself on my KTM taken at a friends backyard track...

Great job!

Not a great fan of dirt riding, the times I've been I've spent too more time off the bike picking it up than I did riding it.  :nono:
The more I learn about women, the more I love my bike.

But the JUMPS!!! They make all the "picking oneself up and brushing oneself off (with help from the opposite gender  :icon_twisted:)" ...... makes it all worth it!  :icon_mrgreen:

I only went riding with males, so getting dusted off by them would lead me to give up riding even quicker.

In my sebatical from street riding the last year I went and bought myself a KTM 360 two stroke. Quick as all HELL, great desert bike. I did motocross at a local track every tuseday and thursday nights on practice nights. As well as doing a couple of trail trips. For me, free riding on a track (not even motocross practice) such as the one my buddy has, is FAR more fun than anything. You can run at your own pace, you can jump if thats your thing (im a big fan hehe), you can get turning down, you can flat track it, SOOO many options. I'm glad your gettin into it, the more the merrier. See if I cant find you another pic here...hmm...

Quads are fun too, this is me on a Polaris 500 wheeling up a sand dune at pismo...
