my "new" taillight

so the best thing about owning 2 different bikes and having 1 as a project is experimentation to some degree. I changed the tailight from the 1000rr with an aftermarket clear alternatives and since the gs had a busted tailight from previous owner I had an idea. The sizes are almos the same and with closer inspection I found out that the light mounts up with zero drilling and did not need any brackets made. Its not the best fit in my opinion but it cost me 0$ to do. It looks somewhat out of place in the picture but believe from anything else more then 5 feet away it looks like its supposed to be there.
update:At night the difference is huge compared to the stock 2 bulb setup and also the clear alternatives as far as brightness goes. The light does light up the plate at night so the need for a tag light does not exist in my opinion. Later in the week I will try to tilt the bottom of the light up some more because it will fill the gap a lot better this way. I didnt "tidy" it up at all because all that I was trying to see is if it would fit at all so we pretty much bolted it on and wired up and left it. The top of the light is flush with the tail fairing about 1-2 inches both ways from dead center so when I get the time I will try to make it fit better.
here is the light I took off

while I had the clear alternatives standing by I decided to try it and sure enough the holes are almost perfect. All I did was take the rubber dampners out and used  large washers on the other side to hold the light in pace.

as you can see in this picture there are tabs that hold the light in place. Only problem here is that the only way to get the tailight in place is to take the rear fairings off until you can slide the 2 bolts from tailight in place.

installed and light on

eh so so...but I'd like to see the headlight.

And can you keep your panties in your pants for the pics?  If you want to show off your underwear there's another section for it...

They tail lights not too bad, are the number plate lights effective?

, but the bike in general is very nice.

Clean and mean!

I dont know what you are asking? If you are asking if the plate can be seen at night then the answer is yes. Oh and there is 2 of us (Mike and Lan). We both use the same account because I (mike) work on the bike.

Well, either you're part of the problem, part of the solution,...

Very nice pictures! Although I read that you said the clear ones light up, is it brighter than the bulbs that were on it before?

I am thinking of doing a LED retrofit in my bike.. but still not sure yet. I like how you have the tail light mounted under the rear so it sits under the shade. I noticed on my bike when in the sun.. (New Mexico) it looks like I am always braking.. I want to make sure people know the difference between sunlight glare and braking.

Again nice bikes! Which one is the favorite to ride?

I could see a series small leds firing downwards in the first picture. But I think I now realise they are not part of the tail light.

Very nice looking! I got the standard clear alternatives integrated taillight, but it looks kinda cheap. The one you have goes really well with the tail.
The Frogurt is also cursed
