Hi guys,

I have recently bought a Yoshi TRS slip-on and a K&N lunchbox filter.  I was wondering if anyone out there has this combo and, if so, if they could share their jetting info?

I understand that the wiki has the rejetting matrix (which is a great starting point), but obviously it would be great if someone has info directly relating to this combo.  No point in reinventing the wheel, after all!  :thumb:

Got my info on the rejetting post that list "what jets are you running".http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=35237.0
Well, either you're part of the problem, part of the solution,...

I'm looking for a Yoshi can, what model did you all buy yours for? For the GS? Because all I can find that is "made" for the GS is for 06-'07... ?

I want one to go with my rejet and K&N Lunchbox (when done, next on list) and need to preferably get used. Finances specifically dictate used, actually.  ;)
I see decent used pipes for semi decent prices on eBay, but don't know what might actually "slip on". Did you have to modify flanges or??? Also please post back or let me know what jet sizes really work for you, I'm going to be in the same boat soon.
Thanks!

I bought one that is marked '05-'07 - my bike is an '05.  I remember reading a thread about which models it will fit and which it won't.  It all has to do with the fact that suzi changed the diameter of the exhaust pipes on the GS - you could still use it on the earlier models, you'd just need to get a muffler shop to tweak the pipe end to size.  Have a search for 'trs' and it's in one of those threads.

Well my bits and pieces have arrived and its time to order some new jets.  :thumb:

I'm a little surprised by the lack of responses with jetting info - I would have thought this combo would have been more popular on the GS?  :dunno_white:

Don't forget you may have to compensate for altitude. When I go from 900 feet above sea level(my area) to 5200 feet above sea level(mountains) my bike becomes whezzy and lean.

Having had a bit more of a poke around I have found jetting info for Sanjay (22.5/65/147.5) and Drowningbird808 (22.5/65/142.5) who are running the same setup.

Seeing as I'm at 70m ASL, and they are similarly located, I'll crack on with this.

I am planning 22./65/147.5, still looking for a jet source, the K&N, and the can.

Oh, and the cash for all the above.   :icon_confused:

Just put the can on today, and repainted the headers - looks totally awesome.

Am holding off on installing the air filter until the new jets arrive (obviously).

Sure thing.  However, I will wait until I get the lunchbox in and rejet.  At the moment I'm running it with the restrictor baffle in, so as not to totally lean-out my carbs in the interim.

It was really straight-forward to fit.  The time was all taken up with grinding the headers and repainting them - which you pretty much have to do, it would look totally average otherwise! (with crusty, rusty pipes and all)

Well, I've done the rejet and fitted the new air filter.  I ended up going with 22.5/65/147.5 and it runs like a dream. I didn't bother touching the needle or shimming it with any additional washers - it just seems to run fine as is.

The Build:
Following the Poor Man's Rejetting Guide it all went pretty smoothly.  The screws on the carb bowls are initially a Buddha Loves You to get off, but once I'd worked out the system to getting them off it was all too easy.  :thumb:

Of course, all the screws were replaced with socket heads, to avoid having to revisit.

The Results:
I didn't really think there would be a particularly noticeable difference in performance - boy was I wrong!  I really couldn't say if there's much more power, but the way in which it's delivered is like night and day.  The bike is so more responsive on the throttle now, and takes off instantaneously once wound on with the wrist.  Start up also seems much better than it used to be.

The TRS exhaust is also a real winner.  It looks fantastic on the bike, and the removable baffle is a great thing to have.  Without the baffle it sure pumps out the decibels!  I can see myself riding with it in on longer trips.  Even with the baffle in place the bike gives a great note under load (ie up hills and accelerating), but it just takes the edge right off at constant revs.

I'm very pleased with this upgrade and would recommend it to all.

Thanks for posting back, that's what I'm looking for as well, both in looks and performance I'm just going to have to find someone who can fit the TRS to my 2001.
Thanks for the rebuild links too!  8)
