What ? $150.00 for 2 pieces of plastic ?

We use to have those on our Roller Skates when we were kids they were called stoppers back then and cost a couple of dollars each.

There's also the extra-long engine mounting bolts they are mounted on - and they are a bit different material - but I still basically agree that the price is kinda high for what they are.
1990 GS500EL - with moderately-ugly paintjob.
1982 XJ650LJ -  off the road for slow repairs

If enough people want them ,I might be able to get material and make sliders in my shop for less money. Anybody interested?

I can make them out of whatever material anyone wants them in. I have a machine shop so I won't be making them with a hacksaw and file

some of us use roller skating wheels just for the look because sliders at certain speeds dont work anyway. so the question is do you want it for just the look or for the protection which is minimal to say the least

ambisinister

I don't see why not. Can anybody give me dimensions? Heighth, diameter, hole size?

Why do sliders not work at certai speeds? Material not hold up?

Sliders will most likely bend if they hit the ground a certain way, and to be honest, different companies make their frame sliders using different strength bolts. Some can withstand a higher force (T-rex Frame sliders) than others (Shogun) and will or will not bend. What I think is that if your frame slider does not bend than it will be your engine mount/frame that does when the force is great enough. The stronger the bolt in the sliders, the more likely you are to keep everything in tact though and possibly bend the frame, it just depends on how much force is put on the slider and how you fall.

The main problem with sliders are the bolts.Could probably use any slider as long as the right bolts are used.
