A quick search didn't reveal any good results, so here it goes.

Does anyone know what the actual part name is that includes the white tube that goes under the rubber throttle grip and around the handle bar and is responsible for actually winding the throttle cable.  Mine has a crack running the length of the tube. I could probably expoxy it, etc. But for what its worth I'd like to look into replacing it.  I'd hate to be stranded far away from home because I was too cheap to replace a little piece of plastic. This is on a 2000 gs500.

The bike bandit schematics http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/suzuki-motorcycle-gs500ey-2000/o/m6060 for the "Handle Lever" under control and brake section look like part number 1 (bike bandit part no. 507991-001)  includes the rubber grip and the plastic tube inside, but I was hoping someone could confirm or deny this.

Looks like it mjn. It's more expensive than the left grip as well and shows the plastic tube underneath, which pretty much confirms it.

My bike fell over in a wind storm which cracked it, but not all the way through. It happened when I was waiting for my new bar ends. What luck huh.

It's know as a throttle tube or twist grip. The springs on the carbs are responsible for the return to idle position. You can get the tube from ebay.Cost is $5-$40 and price depends on if it has a grip and/or if it's a 1/5 turn. Most people go with an SV 1/5 turn throttle tube.It eliminates repositioning your hand to reach wide open throttle.
