I read some where i think wiki that a slip on exhaust from a r6 will fit on a gs500 is this true has any one messed with this. Also. Does the bike have to be rejetted if a slip on is installed?

Yes a stock R6 can will fit with some slight modification.Most any slip on will work.Yes you will have to rejet when replacing the stock muffler.A free flowing exhaust will cause the engine to run lean.This will lead to poor performance and engine damage.

My stock exhaust is dead, so I want to change it. I want to get Yoshi or something... But there is a question - can I use a slip-on built for another bike or not? And how would it affect the engine work?

Yes most any slip on will work.An adapter may be needed to mate the GS exhaust pipe to the slip on pipe.Any muffler shop can do it.Cost $20-30 usually.You'll have to rejet after the exhaust upgrade or the engine will run lean.That will cause serious damage.Here's the links with more info.
