anyone got an old throttle cable laying around? for an 06?

Your '06 model uses TWO throttle cables; see this diagram:

Which one do you need? Number 24 is listed as "CABLE ASS'Y, THROTTLE NO. 1", Suzuki part number 58300-01DA0, while number 25 is listed as "CABLE ASS'Y, THROTTLE NO. 2", Suzuki part number 58300-01DB0. Figure out which one you need, then let us know, and maybe someone will be able to help you out.

thats the thing i dont know which one it is? it is the one directly connected to my throttle on the same mount that the cutoff switch is on i posted a question on the discussions forum but no one said anything

two cables or one cable will work for him. he just needs to make sure its connected correctly.  a cable is designed to pull regardless :)

Have you taken it apart? If so,where does the broken cable connect at the carbs?I'm not sure how the newer GS is laid out.Are the cables 1 over the other at the twist grip or are they side by side? This may help also.
