A coating and chroming company just moved to my town from an industrial park.I spoke with them about coating my headers. They do satin black and sterling silver ceramic coatings. The price was to expensive per piece and a group order would bring the price down.So I am trying to get a group order together. If I can get 10+ orders I  can get them done for $90+ return shipping.

Here's a break down for the group buy.I will handle everything. Please provide a tracking number.I will do the same for return shipping. If you are outside of the 48 states, please use UPS or Fed Ex.I take paypal or US/international money order.Pm me for more details, total price and shipping info.

Please add return shipping to these prices.Dead line is June 2-08
GS style header or 2 into 1 = $90
4 into 1 headers and shorty triples =$130 mid pipe extra
4 into 2 into 1(421) and long triples = $180 mid pipe extra
Mid pipes up to 16 inches $40
Mid pipes 16 to 24 inches $60
Any special exhaust please PM me.

Stock GS exhaust headers must be cut behind or just after the center stand bumper. Please remove the bumper for coating or it will melt.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

??? Then what do you do with the non coated end of the pipe  :dunno_white: It would be miss matched?

Ben, are you the one buying my Chin Fairing and Headlight Windscreen?

If y9ou are the one, could we possibly work something out like I send you the plastics free of charge shipping as well, and if agreeable I would also send my Hindle Header and the money to make up the cost difference of the coating?

Let me know.
Have you learned the lessons only of those who admired you, and were tender with you, and stood aside for you? Have you not learned great lessons from those who braced themselves against you, and disputed passage with you?

 When you say header I think just the front half of the exhaust. I guess you mean the whole thing  :thumb: Just cut for shipping but you ship both parts...

Most exhausts (once cut) would be header, mid pipe and can  :thumb:

I getcha now  O0

I would love to go in on this, but I just can't spend any more money on my bike. I have to start saving up for rent.

Yep.Whole header minus the muffler/can.Some bikes have a mid pipe(mmm Ducatti) and they are usually extra, unless the header is really small.

I can have it done any time. It's just that after the dead line the guy lifts his group buy rates. Then it's $120 for a GS header.

OK one word of caution on this, if the guy does not have a 1200 degree oven (which lot of powdercoaters do not, they have a 450 degree oven which is OK for regular powder but not for high temp ) the coating will get on and will stay on just fine, but it does its final cook on the bike. In the mean time, all the handling on it will remove the powder. It acts like not wet, but not yet fully cured paint. Now ofcourse living in NASCAR country the guy ben is talking about might well have the 1200 oven and hence it may be fine.

I am very interested in the silver ceramic coating. I would only be able to do this after the Deals Gap week end.

Have you seen their work? How close would it be to stainless?

What about prep work and removing rust, paint, etc?

Any idea on turn around time?

Common sense in not very common.

The work is great.I have seen his work on headers. The look is a little brighter than unpolished stainless steel, but nothing bright like polished.Degreasing is the only prep work needed. They media blast the headers to remove any rust or coatings.Turn around time from when I receive the headers will be right at a 7 day week, maybe less, depending on his work load.UPS delivers here before lunch.Fed Ex delivers here in the late afternoon. Both services know me and they deliver to many business around me.I would estimate 8 to 14 days from shipping to return. They can load 3 headers at a time into the oven.Takes about a half a day for baking and proper cool down to set the coating.I don't drag my feet.As soon as I receive the headers,I unpack them, label them with a wire tie label, take a pic for reference in case of mix up,and deliver them. The coaters are a mile from my house.
