In need of GS500e Parts!

Restoring a pretty beat up 1994 GS500e.  Needs a headlight (enitre bucket and cover assembly), the gauges (including the bracket) and a gas tank.  I got this bike running great now it's time to give her a look to match!

I need another part but I do not know exactly what it is.  It's between parts 4 and 5 in the following fiche: http://images.powersportsnetwork.com/fiche/images/Suzuki/1989/Motorcycles/2103_2.gif

It's the half circle with the three holes for the bolts, the top middle one is stripped from the PO.  Does anyone have this part or can someone point me to a good place to get one, I'd hate to have to buy a whole cylinder head for this little piece.

Dude that is cam tower D.
No way you can buy somehting and toss it on there, they are alignbored with the camshaft and the rest of the head.
There was another guy that tore that same thing on his - a friend of yours
Anyway, send it to me and $8 including shipping. I will drill it, tap it and helicoil it and mail it back. Ask the many satisfied (OK OK just that 1 guy ) ... people about this work the buddha did.
Anyway, you cannot replace it, its not a freaking tire. You're going to have to helicoil it. That puts high tension steel threads and essentially stops the possibility that you're eating the threads every time you take it off and put it back on, cos its not in the soft aluminum ... Its steel VS steel. It even starts to work better than new.

All you need to do is get a Helicoil kit. It's a 7mm X 1.00, the only thread of that size on the bike.

Thanx, Buddha, Give me a PM with the address.  Also, it looks like a chunk broke off the top side of it.  Idk where the piece went (should prolly find it! >.<  ).  I can get you a picture before I send it out.  I hope this doesn't prevent it from being fixable.  ( I was figuring that since this piece holds the cam shaft it prolly has to be within a certain very small tolerance....  was just hoping it could be replaced without replacing the entire head.)

Chunk missing ... damn ... how.
I can only think I can weld up some material on it if needed (BTW I put material on the inside of the thing so it will not let my cams clatter. At 50K miles the cam shaft side drift and resulting clatter was really whisper quiet ... anyway, if its vital we drop aluminum on that spot. If its of no consequence we ignore it and do helicoil and leave it be.
Helicoil kids cost like 20 - 30 bucks. I just decided to make use of the 5 other threads in it instead of collecting dust.

Weld and helicoil ... no question, but it will be more $$ prolly 20 for welding, 5 for helicoil and $3 shipping, and turnaround times will be more. Possibly a week. Send it over to me, I have done (or hovered while my welder has done) much more delicate work on the same part ...
