Questions:
-Is that the stock inner fender you painted silver to match? Or is it sheet metal?

-What did you do with the taillight? Looks like it doesnt protrude anymore. Did you recess it?

-License plate mounted to backside of battery area: Be careful with the police. My friend had his mounted there. you can see it fine when bike is parked but when riding the rear compresses and the plate is not visible. He was told by police it must be visible from 100' away, when he got the ticket.

First off, i havnt been pulled over yet, at least not since doing the mod.

No its not the stock fender, i removed it completely, which is nice because i can return the bike to stock if i want to.

The undertail is just cheap accrylic, and i painted the back side so it looks like its got a nice clear coat and the paint wont chip when it gets hit by debre. It might be a little too cheap, its already cracked a bit where its mounted

I removed the bars used for hooking bunge cords onto, The thing was that those bars also had the bracket for holding the tail light onto them, so i figured if i have to make a new bracket i might as well mount the light flush with the back end of the bike.

Ill add another picture to the wall of fame with the close up of the back end. Im also working on getting pictures and info for the modifications page.

Just be careful about the plate. I suggest you have a buddy sit on bike and you stand back a fair bit to check if you can see the license plate. Around here if you're in the twisties you're a target already-they'll happily write you up for anything.

Maybe you could slot the mounting holes and add rubber washers to keep the acrylic from cracking when the frame or seat flexes it.

btw-a clear taillight lens would look great on there...I've taken a good look at the 98' cbr1100xx one I bought and it seems to be about 1/4" shallower than the stock 01+ gs one. I'm going to cut down the mounting screw bosses on the inside by that much and mount it up to check it in the next few days (when I get a chance). I have the JeffD LED special so I still have plenty of clearance but with stock 1157 bulbs there may be clearance issues. I'll post when I have news.
