Brian I'm 20 years old from Pennsylvania. I've lived here all my life. Ive recently finished college at UTI for automotive technology. Just started riding this year around march with a 82 Honda nighthawk 650. After having some gasket problems(headgasket and valve cover gasket both were leaking) I decided to buy a new bike! Test drove a 09 ninja 500...was not very thrilled. Felt small and was uncomfortable. Drove a 08 gs500f and simply feel inlove! Was a smooth ride and the insurance on it was cheap. Picked it up new as a left over for 4199!  Recently fixed my Honda so now I drive both. My gs is for when I want to ride, Honda for me and my girl.

Great website!

I just brought home a '95 GS500E for my wife, who wants to learn to ride.  The bike looks pretty good, but has been neglected with only 3,000 miles on it, none of them recently.  I've already changed the oil, flushed the brakes, drained and cleaned the fuel tank (minimal rust), and have a set of Pirelli Sport Demons on order.  I'll be cleaning the carbs and checking valve clearance soon.

I currently have two other bikes.  The 1982 Suzuki GS1100E that I bought new, and I added a 2007 BMW K1200R Sport two years ago.

I've had a fondness for midsized Suzuki twins from long ago, when I bought a brand new 1983 GS450E and taught my first wife to ride.  I'll probably ride this GS500 more than my wife will.

Glad to be aboard,
-Jon

Johnny Ro , Eaton NH USA, just bought yellow 2004 F with no mods of any kind. A step up from trusty 1988 ex250.   Its a real mellow ride, a nice easy ride. Ordered new windscreen and manual and can't wait to rejet.

backroads jim

Hello,

Jim here from southern Michigan. I am a "mature" rider and I am developing a new interest in GS Twins.
I am specifically interested in the GS 500E. Does anyone here have long distance riding experience with
the GS 500E?

I am looking for a mid-weight and nimble bike for impending "old age".  :)

Thanks!

Jim

Chuck500

Hi.  Chuck in Houston, Texas.  I started riding a year ago in Fairfax, Virginia.  I have a 2007 GS500F I purchased in June 08 with less than 400 miles.  Of course, I think the GS500 is THE perfect motorcycle.
:woohoo:

I'm Brent... I'm a 29 y.o. ex hot rodder getting onto 2 wheels for the first time.  I'm an experienced welder but find myself without one for the first time in a while and am going through fabrication withdrawals.  Anywho- i finish my msf class this weekend and am looking forward to learning.  The p.o. did NOTHING for upkeep, so I tore the bike down and am rebuilding from frame so I can guarantee the work was done right.  I am new to the tips and tricks of a bike, so I will probly be asking for some advice soon.

Any riders in Phoenix that want to go enjoy the 115 degree heat while wearing leather (yes, we're retarded for living here)... lemme know!!!
