Hi there, my name is Silvia and I live in the Netherland. I ride my Suzuki GS 500 E for 3 years now. I still love the bike though I had to change some things after a fall. I had to buy a new fairing, had to repaint the rest of the bike and added new stickers. Also have my nickname on front.

26 years old, new to the forum!  I'm a Texan at heart, but from Austin, which is very different from the rest of the state.  Now living in Charelston, WV and about to buy my first GS500.  Rode for a few years on a 250 rebel, and now coming back to biking after a few years hiatus.  :)

I work in a helpdesk for a federal government agency and develop a Linux distribution on the side.  I probably have a bug for computers the way a lot of you guys do for bikes.

you can see the difference in the handlebar positioning of my two bikes from this pic:

Hi! I'm Pam from central Alabama. A Newbie here on the forum.. just joined today.  Hubby gave me a new 2005 GS500F (blue/white) for my 40th bday on the 21st.. time to retire my old 1991 VX800.  I'm guessing I'll be putting the old girl up for sale (no not me, the bike).  I look forward to seeing what all goes on around here too.  I'm currently going to school full-time and a university senior.

Bye!
Pam

Joined the board a couple weeks ago. I'm a new rider with a new 04 GS500F. I've got the bike to commute to work. Now what was a 20 minute chore is a 45 minute pleasure (Side roads rather than the freeway). I'm a Systems Administrator/Database Administrator/Bioinformatics Research slave/etc. at the Univerisity of California at Riverside. So basically, I get paid to play on the computer...

Aloha!  i am stationed in hawaii and just got back from a year-long deployment in Afghanistan.

i just "acquired" my dad's '92 GS500.  i got ited in to this site from Pantablo.  i "know" him from www.600rr.net, my other ride.  i am looking to revamp this bike - i have a new swingarm, frame, rims, and a few other new parts to throw on and start a second ride.

this is a great looking site and has lots of useful information, i can't wait to dig in and start the project!

32, living in Sherman Oaks, CA. I'm a new motorcycle rider   :o  .. very interesting story how I picked up this hobby.  I Just got a 1994 GS500  2 days ago.  Since then, I've had to buy a new battery and started charging it. Finally got the old one jumped and rode it today for about 10 minutes.... until I stalled a block from my house.  I had to walk the F#$%g thing back to my house... did I mention it's 102 in the valley today?

Great web site, helped me figure out how you take the seat off to find the battery.  Don't worry I already got an M1 license, and I'll take it slow for now.

At midnight tonight, the new battery will be charged, and tomorrow morning, vroom vroom.    :thumb:

Hello All! My name is Adrian Evans and I just picked up a Yellow 2004 GS500F from the local dealer. The bike was used (had 230 miles on it). So far I've put 5 miles on her, and stopped to get gas once. As I've never ridden any motorcycle before, nor driven a car with a clutch, I still have problems starting the bike. I spent most of the morning practicing shifting and starting/stopping on slight hills.
Anyways, just wanted to say hello and glad that I found this site.
Who I am:
26 year old 1/4 black, 1/4 japanese, 1/2 white male living in Tacoma WA.
I do software development for a living
Play guitar, video games, random electronic stuff, and golf for fun
No kids, no wife, no girlfriend at the moment

One question, does anyone know how to put frame sliders on the GS500. When I was at the dealership, they said that Suzuki doesn't make anything for the GS500, but that I should check to see what other owners have done.

Thanks in advance, and nice to meet everyone!
